I have been here on several occasions when I had a computer conference in the DC area. I was never disappointed and loved the food and view.

  • Great Place!

Me and my husband decided to check out Tony & Joe's, it seems like everyone was talking about this place recently. The weather was perfect so we sat out on the outdoor patio and I was blown away by the awesome views of DC. The food and service were tremendous. Our waitress was attentive, funny and very professional. Between the great food, service and incredible views of the Potomac we had a wonderful day. The crab dip is the best I've ever had, and the crab cake sandwich was good, too. They have a pretty extensive wine and beer list as well. If you want to spend a nice afternoon eating great food with a spectacular view, go to Tony & Joe's. We can't wait to go back.

  • Terrible experience. Don't waste your money.

Most people are tempted to visit Tony & Joe's thanks to it's primary real estate, but it's not worth the hassle. I've been on three occasions, each time seeking the charm of a waterfront bar. Each time I have been sorely disappointed. It's easy to look past the ridiculous prices for domestic beers, but on each of my visits I have encountered the most RUDE and outright confrontational staff members!

Having worked in this industry in a beach town, this is NOT how you treat your customers! From apathetic managers on down to ignorant and inexperienced wait staff, bartenders, and door men, this place offers the worst possible experience for the DC waterfront. Courteous customers should NEVER be treated as an inconvenience. Don't waste your time. Take your dollars to an establishment that actually wants your business.

  • go to another bar...

    what a waste..

  • bar area -- too pretentious

As much as I want to hang out and people watch on the harbor, the crowd that goes to this place is rather snotty and showy. If you are looking for a little more diversity go next door to Sequoia where it's a little more down to earth (for Georgetown) and welcoming--plus, they are even closer to being on the water.
