Rumors can be a cheesy dance club; relaxed, local bar; and nice downtown restaurant all at once or at different intervals. There are actually two bars -- one more refined near candlelit and white- cloth-covered tables; the other near a DJ and more raucous crowd. College students and recent grads make up some of the bar's patrons, though many weeknights bring nearby office workers or in- town-on-business types. It makes for an interesting singles-on-the-prowl scene. Daily happy hour specials from 4-7PM liven things up. Rumors also has a spacious patio bordered by garage doors that open to expose the dining area, which serves American fare with lots of seafood. Surprisingly, Bass Ale is the only beer on tap, but there are plenty of bottles. Top 40 hits and old favorites fill the DJs' playlists to get the crowd singing along or moving to the dance floor.

BrandonCondley - 07/25/2008This is absolutely the best place in Washington for lunch. Their chef is fantastic. The fare is exotic and varied, but reasonably priced. I prefer the privacy of the upper bar, but there is plenty of seating in the main dining area and outdoors in the spring and summertime. Try it, you'll love this place.

Vmotwo - 07/24/2008It's fantastic! The food is great and reasonably priced. There are two bars - one intimate and the other open for conversation and mingling. The staff is very friendly and accomodating. It's in downtown and close to everyting interestin and important. I guarantee you'll love this place. Also, outdoor dining if you prefer.
