As pizza joints in Jersey go, this is one of the best -- and it's got true pedigree, as the menu and newspaper articles on the wall explain. Long story short, it's a branch of the popular Grimaldi's pizza house sitting under the Brooklyn side of the Brooklyn Bridge (itself the subject of various family disputes but enough squabbling). This is a quieter and bigger place than the bridge-side pizzeria; it occupies a neighborhood corner near Hoboken's city hospital. Inside a red-bricked, two-level room, they'll fix you pasta if you want it, but nearly everyone comes for the great pizzas -- crispy, coal oven-charred thin-crust pizzas with a light topping of delicious red sauce and whichever toppings you can handle. The row of streetside tables makes for a pleasant alfresco pie in warm weather. And, yes, they have beer on tap.

Decent pizza too, not that commercial stuff or the overpriced slices found across the river. However, nothing comes close to a Grimaldi's pie with pepperoni.Grimaldi's Is Simply The Best!

But it doesn't work, because we know that other people think this is the best Pizza, Other people say they dont like it becuase they're not used to FRESH TOPPINGS prepared EVERYDAY! They can go to their cheap Slices Only pizzerias and get the worse NOT FRESH toppings! dont believe them!

mdc34 - 07/07/2005Yes, it doesn't look great on the inside, but the pizza is the best we've had in Jersey. We've brought every family member whose come to visit us and they all agree that it's one of the best they have had too. Quick service and great taste, you can't beat it!
