Don't go to Susanna Foo expecting the usual Chinese food or decor. Much of chef/owner Foo's cuisine, served in an elegant, Asian-tinged atmosphere, is so heavily influenced by her French leanings that die-hard Chinese-food fans may be disappointed. But that's not to downplay the Susanna Foo appeal: Asian fusion aficionados and converts love this place. The menu goes as far toward Chinese as Kung Pao chicken and as far from Chinese as grilled filet mignon with saffron fettuccini. In between, you'll find mesmerizing combinations of French and Asian fare. Foo is known for her impeccable dim sum, which includes a sampler box with seared big eye tuna, baby crab cakes, ginger-smoked salmon with wasabi creme fraiche and mushroom dumplings; seared foie gras with truffle potato dumplings and grilled figs; and steamed veal and spinach dumplings. An excellent way to partake of the dim sum is by choosing the seven-course chef's table, which is served in a private room for eight-12 guests.

NOT LIKE SUILAN IN THE BORGATA?
OMG. SUILAN AT THE BORGATA WAS THE BEST CHINESE FOOD EVER. SINCE THEY CLOSED DOWN, I WAS CONSIDERING TAKING A RIDE TO THE RESTAURANT IN PHILADELPHIA. BUT BASED ON THE REVIEWS I AM READING I DON'T THINK IT IS WORTH THE TRIP. HAS ANYONE BEEN TO SUILAN IN THE BORGAT TO BE ABLE TO LET ME KNOW IF THERE IS THAT BIG OF A DIFFERENCE. THANK YOU.
Add CommentSoooo disappointed

One of the things I enjoy doing is trying different eateries, sampling different styles of foods. I had heard so much about SF, and was excited to go. It was nowhere near what I heard. I would not go back, nor recommend it to anyone. The food was bland, and cold. The service was good, but not great.
Find a smaller place in china town. Not worth it! Especially the Radnor location.
The only worthwhile item on the menu is the dumplings. You want good traditional chinese, you are better off going to Yang Ming in Bryn Mawr or Sampan in Havertown.
great food if u willing to pay the price !
Great food for GOURMET FOOD followers or if you have too much money to spend (after u fill up your $4/ gallon gas of course) then this is the place ! Great food / great ambiance with the price ! :))
LOOK OUT!

DON'T try to give Susanna Foo or her employees a parking ticket, or she may beat you up and cause you to miscarry your baby (See today's Philadelphia Inquirer / Daily News for full story).
Great choice restaurant week

Great food, service & atmosphere. A "asian fusion" feast of delights even on $30, restaurant week . For starters the spring greens w/crisp pears ,squash soup, and the all vegtable hot/sour soup pleased all. The tower of orange/citron shrimp & the ginger spiced salmon as main courses were a treat. The desserts outstanding. Truely out performed our expections for restaurant week's special $30. for three courses. Didn't push normal menu. All in our party had a great time. Food is always a celebration here.
Terrible - Dangerous Allergies
Beware if you have allergies, they just are lazy and cause a bad reaction for me. Despite calling ahead and extended discussions with waiters dishes came out with items I cautioned against. Even removing those elements, still had horrible reaction.
Food mediocre. They delt with the allergies by just leaving off the sauces and not compensating with anything. Miserable expereince. Lazy chef, dishonest staff, horrible experience.
Avoid if you have sever allergies or bring your epi if you feel it is worth the hassel. We did not and our expectations were trashed.RIPOFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This place is awful. Minute portions of average Chinese food at outrageous prices with snotty service. This is a place for fools on espense accounts. Go to Chinatown for far better food at 1/5th the price.
DINED HERE A FEW YEARS AGO
Haven't been there lately, but my husband and I were AWESTRUCK at how good the food tasted. Each course or item was beautifully presented, tasted delicious, and though portions were small, the entire meal was enough to fill you up. Can't remember what we had; don't know if it's different now, but I do know that I'd love to eat here again. It is expensive though, but it was worth it. Hope it's still as good!
