If you've read about Greenwich Village's Town Tavern in FHM or The New York Times, you'll be glad to know that the Manhattan hot spot's second location has arrived on the South Side. Like the original, the two-level space calls itself "the club over the pub": You'll find an island bar, a large dance floor with DJs, plasma TVs downstairs, and an upstairs lounge with crushed red velvet on the walls. Of course there's also the de rigueur VIP area for sports peeps and other local celebs. Check out the Town Tavern burger board, with its bacon or chili cheeseburgers served on sesame buns with waffled fries, and appetizers such as mini mac-and-cheese or vegetable spring rolls. The crowd of young professionals starts to fill the place by 9PM most nights. And if you're wondering why FHM is so keen on the place, the club calls its waitresses in shorts and miniskirts "the friendliest waitstaff in town."
