Classic Chinese fare and East Asia glamour unite. On the second floor of the Shops at Station Square, Sesame Inn is a peaceful respite from the hustle and bustle. Glass windows etched with graceful vegetal designs separate the restaurant from the mall as well as provide a barrier between the two dining rooms. Carved, painted wood images depict Chinese landscapes and set a traditional mood. Have a seat at the deep mauve tables or in a tapestry covered booth.

Businesspeople and shoppers alike flock here for daily lunch specials, which include many entrees served with your choice of soup, egg roll, rice and a fortune cookie. Try the Kung Pao chicken, Hunan shrimp, or beef with broccoli. For dinner, try a plate of barbecued spare ribs, fried dumplings, or a bowl of sizzling rice soup. Then move on to one of the chef's specialties, such General Tso's chicken, sesame shrimp and the Peking duck. There is also a special section on the menu for vegetarians and those watching their waistline.

Tried 3 times. Various dishes tasted strange each time.

I eat at Sesame Inn at Station Square at least 2 times a month for lunch and it's always a great experience. Service is good, the food is great and the water girl will not let me get 2 sips out of my glass before she is refilling it....now thats great service!

Best of all, you can get in and out of the restaurant in less then 30 minutes. Sesame Inn knows how to do quick service.

Opps.....forgot to metion that the price is perfect at less than $7 for my meal.

We usually go to the Peter's Twp location, and have never had a bad meal. We do take-out with delivery several times a month, and they usually arrive almost before we hang up the phone...we can't figure out how they do that!! The delivered food is hot and gererous portions...our favorite!

I can think of at least two Chinese restaurants that are far superior to this place. Whomever rated this as No. 1 must be used to eating in a soup kitchen on the north side.
service in North Hills and Mt Lebanon is horrible. I got up and left Mt Lebanon.
North hills was bad but Im sorry I stayed. I couldn't get the meat off the bones of the barbeque rib appetizer with a sharp knife . They must have been days old.

  • Mt Lebanon & Peters Twp Best

We enjoy the Mt Lebanon & Peters Township Sewsame Inns the best. We frequent several times a month and the food is just great. Their double delight with chicken and scrimp is outstanding

  • AMAZING

    Review rating : 5out of 5   zstarbrite - 01/24/2006

The Amazing chicken and shrimp is to die for. The service leaves a bit to be desired though as our waitress was extremely impatient with us and often left halfway through an order to attend to something else, but the food more than made up for it. The lettuce wrapped chicken was delicious, as were the crab rangoons. Far and away the best I've had in Pittsburgh
