Hate chains, but this one is excellent. Expensive, but a better value than Mortons.

  • Great meal, at a price...

Upon moving to Pittsburgh, this was our first venue for dinner before the Symphony. It was a good, though pricey, choice. The staff was excellent -- making sure that we were out on time for our concert even though we were running late to begin with. We will be back, although we have many other places we'd like to try first. One note of caution -- do listen when they tell you the plates are HOT!!

  • great food, bad service

    Review rating : 4out of 5   manningfan16001 - 02/26/2007

Our food was excellent. Try the sweet potato casserole for dessert.

However, our waitress preauthorized herself a $50 tip on a bill that was only $100... she was barely even around everyone else filled our water, brought our food ect. She just came and asked us 3 times if we wanted dessert and we said no and asked for our check and she never brought it. Very annoying.

I have been to Ruth's all around the country, and this one is one of the best. May wife and I went a few months ago before an Elton John concert. Steak is off the chart good (though if you need it more than medium, this is not the place for you; and shame on you for ruining any steak by cooking it that much), the bread a butter is to die for, and the creole french dressing would make cardboard taste delicious. Great service when we were there. Reasonabley priced for a high end steakhouse.

Although a chain, this locally owned franchise boasts 1st class from the moment you walk through the front door. Although ,the commercials highlight the huge filet, for real bovine efficienado's, the ribeye charred medium rare is unsurpassed. After 50+- visits, the consistency of high quality cuisine, impeccable service by professional well trained staff, and bustling, non-pretentious,vibrant atmosphere is always amazing. The seared Ahi tuna is the best in the city. The piping hot chocolate bread pudding explodes in your mouth to complete the finest overall dining experience in Pittsburgh !
