Fatburger says it has the leanest beef in town, so why is it called Fatburger? The name is derived from the 1950s slang term for "success," as in "fat cat" and "fat city." Fat city for this 50-plus chain restaurant is Los Angeles and Southern California, but the franchise is cruisin' east, making Pittsburgh its first Pennsylvania stop. Fatburger, which was founded in 1952, maintains its mid-century image with retro decor and a nice collection of jazz and R&B oldies on the jukebox. The high-traffic strip mall location isn't made for cruising, but there's still room for patio dining in fair weather. Burgers are grilled to order, giving diners time to savor the aroma as the kitchen crew shouts down the line. The one-third-pound Fatburger comes loaded with toppings, and customers can add ranch dressing, bacon, chili or egg. There's a turkey burger, a Baby Fat and a "Fatkins"-style (bunless) burger for patrons watching their waistlines. Not surprisingly, this California favorite is already drawing a crowd in Pittsburgh.

Started good, but now I won't waste my time
We give a place 3 times until we'll refuse to go there anymore -- who knows -- maybe it was just a bad day? Anyway, the last 3 times, this place has been AWFUL!! Cold, hard, greasy Onion Rings, Overcooked burger that took forever.

You should be embarassed to put this place on any list. Incredibly slow service, some condiments left out unrefridgerated by an indifferent staff, and patrons (including myself) complaining of an after taste from the "burgers" while leaving in the parking lot. How this place stays in business is beyond me.
Fatburger - HA..Nastyburger
I don't know where the editors are used to eating, but it certainly can't be anywhere worth it's wear when it comes to BURGERS!!! I have had and still get better burgers from BK and Wendy's!!! Your right on when you say Tessaro's is numero uno, but to rate Fatburger even in the top 10, is the most egregious, rediculous, rating I have ever seen!!! Save some money and eat at BK's!!!
not great, not bad
Fair is fair. Burgers good, fries not as good.
Milkshakes are very good.
Many other places to go for a better burger.
All in all, ok, just not great.Fat Burger
Best Turkey Burgers in and around Pittsburgh. Juicy and tasty....what more can you ask for.
.
I was not impressed with Fat Burgers at all. I thought the burgers were nothing special and were expensive
