Eat'n Park traces its origins back to 1949, when the first location provided carhop service, a tradition that would continue through the mid-'70s. A new tradition was born in the '80s: Eat'n Park's signature smiley cookie, which has since become the chain's logo. The restaurants are best known for their breakfasts and in-store bakeries, but a number of popular lunch and dinner dishes also are available, including roast-beef sandwiches, baked and fried fish, and burgers. If you have room, cap your meal with a few Grilled Stickies, warm and slightly crisp cinnamon loaves topped with ice cream and honey.

Uniformly bright and cheery, most Eat'n Park locations are busy at all hours. You'll find a broad medley of customers here -- families come in droves for the outstanding breakfasts, the post-bar crowd stops by for late-night snacks, and senior citizens enjoy a dedicated menu. Can this spot be all things to all people? Try the mac 'n' cheese and see for yourself.

  • Great Place

Shocker: their baked cod is better than that served at Monterrey Bay. Their salad bar is always clean and well attended. Chile is five star. For a very low priced local chain, they beat some of the better known high priced restaurants.

  • Eat' n Puke?

    Review rating : 1out of 5   andy4de3n8 - 07/10/2005

There's no way this dump deserves to be on the best burger list, or any other list. This is just proof that native Pittsburghers are cheap morons. I can see why Eat n Puke has teamed up with the Steelers, they both have been making Western PA reach for an antacid on a nightly basis for decades !!

  • Good Food!!!

I have never had a bad meal at Eat N Park. For Lunch, try their Steak and cheese sandwich, with a side of fries and potato soup or clam chowder (soups vary daily). For dinner, the Veal Parmesan and Chicken Alfredo is good.

  • Salad Bar is Excellent

    Review rating : 4out of 5   edkumi - 06/02/2005

Overall, I have found the Salad Bar to be an excellent meal choice at Eat 'n Park. My only complaint is the lack of consistency between restaurants. This I would blame on the District Manager for failing in Manager training and restaurant inspections.

The Eat 'n Park, Frankstown Road, Penn Hills is my favorite stop. Food and service are always top notch!
