If authentic Italian cuisine is what you're after, Del's has a menu even Tony Soprano would approve of. Located in the 'Burgh's own Little Italy, it started out as a tiny market in 1908 owned by the DelPizzo family. In the century since, Del's has since grown into one of the most popular family-owned Italian restaurants in town. Choose from a menu of classic Italian dishes like chicken ricotta Florentine and veal parmigiana for dinner, or stop by for lunch and enjoy a signature sandwich or panini. If you like to dine early, come in for the early-bird special, served from 2PM to 8PM, and score a full-course dinner at a discounted price. Del's is hopping every night of the week, catering to an older crowd of locals and famiglias. Younger types and tourists pour in on the weekends to sit at the bar or people-watch at one of the coveted tables by the large, glass windows. Come in during a Steelers game and you'll get free pizza and buffet food, as well as some of the best beer specials in the neighborhood. Ah, bellisimo!

how to speak italian lesson 1
panini is PLURAL!!!!! don't be ignorant and go to an italian restaurant and order a panini b/c what you are really saying is "sandwiches". unless you want more than 1 you should say panino. how can the food be good if it isnt even spelled right on the menu. NoobS

Love their pizza..but the lasagna..ok it is the size of a brick and a must to take home.
Number 2 is Pretty Darn Good

Del's was rated number 2 on the Best Italian in the Burg, I'll take #2 anytime. The Egg Plant is outstanding, followed by a Tiramisu that topped of an outstanding meal. The owner, Mariane was gracious to come out and greet diners and distrubite a "frequent eaters" card. The down home feeling is alive and well at Del's.
Best Italian in da Burg
My family has been going to Del's for over 25 years, and every year it seems to get better and better. There is no comprable Italian Restaurant to it in the Burg. You have to try the best Egg Plan parm in PA!
Down the Street...
Go to Alexander's down the street (Liberty Ave.) for better Italian. Del's is decent but Alexander's is OUTSTANDING. Which would you rather have???
