Grandview Avenue is famous for two things: its spectacular panorama and some of the top dining in the city. Combine the two and you get the Grandview Saloon, a two-tier lounge designed to show off the scenery -- especially after sunset, when the lights of skyscrapers reflect from the water around the Point. In the warmer months, take advantage of the saloon's pride and joy: a large, sturdy deck built into the hillside, where the breeze is perfect and the city sprawls romantically toward the horizon. After a day negotiating the sloped, European-style streets of Mt. Washington, you'll be ready for happy hour, from 4 to 6PM. Follow your cocktail with a mouthwatering filet mignon, Delmonico steak or chicken czarina. Grandview Saloon can accommodate large groups as well, making it a cheerful, versatile spot for elegant dates, business meetings, an anniversary bash or a simple after-work Corona.

Lousy
I hadn't been here for 4 or 5 years. Took out of town guests for a drink and light bite back in the fall. The food and service was horrible. Any amateur could have done a better job preparing the nachos. Seemed like nothing more than a tourist trap for the view.

WOW this place has changed! I'm assuming the restaurant is under new manangement, because everything is different, and for the better! I first visited over a year ago with my husband. Food was great, service was good, but the ambiance was prob. a 4 on a 1-10 scale. Now there are table linens, candles, flowers, curtains, etc. It looks great!! The new menu is outstanding, to say the least. My husband's steak was cooked perfectly, and I think he really wanted to lick the plate. I had the "catch of the day" - a bronzed chilean sea bass with an ancho chile white wine sauce. Fantastic!! We will definately be back!
BEST STEAK EVER!!

My husband and I came here last night for our 15th wedding anniversary and were we impressed! We had not been here in ages & it has changed so much for the better. We both got steaks on recommendation of our server and they were perfectly cooked and DELICIOUS!! The whole back of the restaurant is windows (this is not new) but the candlelight, linens, fresh flowers and soft music playing were new and I must say the view over candlelight was just AMAZING! Our server was outstanding...prompt and friendly but not intrusive. Thanks again guys! This place is a must go!!
unhappy !!!
Having been a cutomer for many years, I took out of town guests there for an early dinner. The place had changed. The menu was restricted and we were unable to order sandwiches of any description. Our fried zuchinni was greasy/soggy. I was not happy with service and was embarrassed. For the money I would go to the Georgetown anyday!! Better food, atmosphere, and service. I won't go back..ever.
excellent view not so great service
We went to impress friends from cincy. Our table was given away and we were on time and when we went to order anything we wanted was no longer availible. sorry I will not be back soon.

Probably the best "bistro" in Pgh. Great food and service with a view to die for!
