Families out for savory meals at a nice price often end up at Armstrong's. The wait for a table (often 45 minutes or more during the weekend's peak hours) can be a drag, but don't abandon hope. Park your booty at the full-service bar and whet your appetite. After all, you'll need it -- we're talking mega-size meals, here.

Though Italian specialties, such as stuffed-eggplant, shrimp and chicken parmigiana, are the menu's heavy hitters, non-Italian dishes, such as beer-battered scrod and a glut of hearty sandwiches, also pack a satisying gastronomical punch. You're sure to take home leftovers, but don't leave without trying a slice of homemade pie topped with chocolate peanut butter. With its huge portions and kid-friendly fare, it's no surprise Armstrong's is so consistently packed.

Have followed this restaurant around after every move. ONLY place in Pittsburgh that stays at the top of it's game after all this time! Unbelievable sandwiches. Crab stuffed sole to die for. Great bar selection too!
Very reasonable considering you get at least two meals out of what you order! This is our once a week place to eat, never disappointed yet!

The Best semi expensive family style restaurant in Pittsburgh. Fresh salads, zucchinni, and hearty bread will just start you out. The Portions are BIG and always fresh and done to your likeing. There's usually a wait at the door but I consider that a good sign. Reubens to fish to Italian dishes that scream cheese please! One of the best salads and dressing in town. Great service and dinner for two should only cost between $20-$40 bucks after tipping!! Recommend:House salad, bleu cheese dressing, zucchinni as appetizer, and a reuben made only the way they can. Forget just a Italian rest. this place has everything!!!!
