This Western-style steakhouse chain has big portions, but who needs to count calories when there's fried cheesecake to be had? Longhorn's signature tenderloin steak is called Flo's Filet, it comes in 7 or 9 ounces, and is also available paired with seafood like grilled shrimp or lobster tail. You can also choose among the bacon-wrapped steak, the bleu-cheese crusted steak, the rib-eye, the Texas T-bone, the prime rib -- the list goes on. The Longhorn specialty is a 20-ounce New York strip steak chargrilled in an open flame. Six rich desserts complete the picture. The classic key lime pie and brownie sundae compete with over-the-top "chocolate stampede" (six kinds of chocolate in a cake served with ice cream, whipped cream and fudge sauce) and the fried cheesecake, also served with ice cream and whipped cream. Drinkwise, the Longhorn's special cocktail is a pomegranate margarita. Longhorn is impressively child-friendly, so check out a seven-item kids' menu ($3.99-$5.99), the $1.99 smoothies, and the free coloring sheets provided with the crayons.

service was great, ( BUT )
Took my son for his birthday, we ordered filet, I wanted mine done , medium well, my son ask for well done. when it was served, my son was picking at his, I ask what was the matter, and he said it was red, well the lighting was a little dim, so I ask him to cut the middle, sure enough it was very red, about three minutes later, someone from management ask if everything was ok, and I replied no, and he ask why , of course, and I explained that he ordered his steak well done.. he said yes, it did look a little red, ( it was alot red ), so he took the plate, and said he would be right back, well ,, twenty minutes passed, and no steak. , my friend and myself were finished are meal, and my sons meal was still not returned.. our waitress came by, and I ask her where his steak was, she disapeared, and about a minute later, the same gentleman that took his steak, returned with his steak, and offered no , I am sorry, nothing, just cut the steak, and make sure it is done, as before, my son started picking at his steak, it was done alright, but the outside was just shy of being burnt. well anyway, we left, without complaining, as I was just unhappy my sons meal was ruined, nice birthday present. to complete this story, I did call corprate headquarters, and they refered me to the general manager in my location, he was very nice, and ask me if I would accept two free meals. and explained that this should never have happened... and he was sorry it happened. I agree... hopefully corprate will read this, and have there managers be a little more considerate of the public.. a thank you cost nothing, along with I am sorry.

longhorn steakhouse
It's not as good as you would think. The filet doesn't have very good flavors and to me it's like they copied outback steakhouse but aren't as successful.

I agree with maddlib...the first time was good, but after that it sucked! I thought maybe they were just busy the next few times but eventually I gave up since I had to keep sending my food back to either be cooked more or warmed up!
maddlib
The first week this opened it was really good. The next three times we went it got gradually worse. Twice I asked that the hot seasonings be left off my steak, once it worked the second time it did'nt. I guess the customer isnt always right. And ps...it is overpriced.
