When the owners of famed Delaware Ave. clubs Egypt and Deco opened Shampoo in 1998, it was considered one of the city's hottest and most extravagant nightspots. Today, it's lost little of its luster as the place to go to get your dance on, thanks to a continuously evolving lineup of DJs and music. Inside, the enormous two-floor space is divided into several different areas, including eight bars, the 'Velvet Underground' lounge, the tented outdoor 'Groove Garden' (complete with hot tub) and several dance floors. Choose which night you visit wisely: Wednesdays, be prepared for the best in goth with Nocturne while Fridays are the (in)famous Shaft Fridays, one of the city's biggest gay dance parties. Saturdays usually bring in guest DJs for marathon sets that often go until the early morn. On a typical evening, though, expect lots of house, techno, hip-hop and high-energy dance music, and a crowd that's more South Jersey than Northern Liberties. -- Doree Shafrir

    I remember I use to go to Shampoo on Friday nights because they had the best party around and since this new promotion took over it's been nothing but drama. If you want to go to a club to dance to some good music and enjoy yourself without all the getto queens that like to fight all the time and a dj that plays Beyonce all night...SHAMPOO isn't it.

    i see alot of people writen dummmmmmmm stuff about shampoo dont let them fool u it is the hott spot to be at if u r looking for an alll around club the shampoo is your spot it has the best dancers i have ever seen along with a list of the best djs from alll over i go to every party theyu have and always will

    Its the only club in the city that has something for everyone. I live for Lifted Sundays. There are sooooooooooooo many hot girls there.
