Can you say charming? You will, when you enjoy a meal at Sabrina's, the former Litto's bakery on Christian Street, just around the bend from the Italian Market. The three smallish dining rooms are as sweet as they are quirky, and all are watched over by a staff of really cheery and attentive folks who have perfected that laid-back hip approach that is de rigueur for today's little bistros. The menu, scrawled whimsically on a blackboard, isn't exactly avant garde but rather a lighthearted assortment of rib-sticking breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner options that include an apple and sharp cheddar omelet, an assortment of pancakes, hearty challah French toast, homemade granola, vegetarian cheese steak, meatloaf and other yuppified comfort foods. The overall feel is cozy and relaxed... the kind of place where they don't mind if your cup of coffee with a pal lasts as long as a whole meal. You can eat outdoors when the weather is nice and take in the parade of school kids, housewives, tourists, goodfellas, bad boys, merchants and the occasional madmen who make up life in the Italian Market.

SABRINA'S
I only have eaten there once this past fall while in the City and it was a surprise and a pleasure. The staff and menu were terrifc and delicious. Well done.

I've been to Sabrina's a million times (brunch, dinner, etc) and I fall in love with the place a little more each time. The food is excellent and the service is second-to-none (however, on an off-night we were served by a less experienced waitress...but she was still cordial). My friends and I have deemed it "our spot" for birthdays and special occassions. If you're a penny-pincher you might want to go somewhere else. But I have NO problem spending a little more for QUALITY food and service. Love it!
Subpar service and rude host

What is usually a good experience turned very sour this visit. Called ahead to get put onto the list, but the person informed me the wait was minimal and refused to put my name on the list. Went to the restaurant and there was a 45 minute wait, and the hostess was extremely rude after I informed her that I indeed called. So, after waiting one hour fifteen minutes we were finally seated, and the service staff was prompt. However, the food was subpar. It will be quite a while before we return to this restaurant or recommend it to friends.
Be honest about the wait time!

Put our name in for a party of five this morning and were informed that we would be seated in 35 to 45 minutes. Gave a cell number, as requested, and took a walk down the block. We know there is always a wait for Sunday brunch so this seemed a reasonable time to wait. We returned to the restaurant about 30 minutes later. When it approached an hour wait, one of our party stepped inside to seem how much more time. We were told that our party of six would be seated in about 20 minutes. We corrected them by saying that we were a party of five. To make a long story short, there were two parties waiting with the same name - our group and the group of 6. We went in again when the other group was called and since they got to the table first, were allowed to sit even though we had our name in much earlier. The owner was there and let them sit and promised us a table in "two minutes." Well, needless to say, after another 10 minutes, making it now a total of one and a half hours wait, we decided to leave. No apologies for their mistake even though we said we were disappointed about waiting so long and not getting a chance to eat. I know people will continue to wait but the staff need to be honest about the true wait time and acknowledge when a mistake is made. We won't be back and will tell all who ask about our experience.
WHAT A WASTE
Normally going to Sabrina's is a pleasant and enjoyable experience. Today however was awful. The host was an *******, after waiting the 4 minutes I was originally told (which i didn't mind because I love the place) I went to ask how much longer it was going to be. After being tod it was going to be another 45 minutes I left, with a bad attitude from the host as a going away present. Could not have cared less than the wait was twice as long as they originally said. Went across the street and had an amazing breakfast for half the price!!!
Bring lotsof money

Yes,the food and service are great but the prices are outlandish. Breakfast for three was $70.00 before tip. Orange juice at $6.00 a glass is a bit much!
umm, umm, good!

we were in philly visiting & in dire need of a new breakfast joint. the diner wasn't cutting it. this place is amazing! presentation, food, service were great! not to mention cheap. even the bathroom was clean! portions were very generous. i created my own omellette and it was scrumptuous! recommened it to my philly friends.

I eat breakfast at Sabrina's every day! Whole wheat blueberry pancakes and freshly squeezed orange juice--where else can you get this?! It's very difficult to find a restaurant that's even opened for breakfast! I don't know how they manage to always find such wonderful people to work there. It's so busy on weekends, I fully expect them to open a second Sabrina's some time in the future--hopefully soon!
