Message from Ruth's Chris Steak House

Sophisticated American restaurant chain serves up corn-fed USDA prime cuts and New Orleans-style appetizers and sides.
Ruth's Chris Steak House is the place that showed the world how great a steak can be. Steaks are carefully selected and aged for tenderness, cut thick to ensure juiciness and seared to perfection at 1800 degrees. It's seasoned simply with salt, black pepper and a touch of parsley, because a steak like this needs nothing else. It's also topped with fresh butter that sizzles seductively on your plate, announcing the arrival of a great steak. At Ruth's Chris, sizzle is more than the mouthwatering sound that accompanies your steak from the broiler to the table. Here, sizzle is a state of mind, an attitude, a personality that could have only been born in New Orleans. As Ruth Fertel once said, "It's the sizzle that sets us apart from the stuffy, stodgy, old-line steak houses. You have a great steak at Ruth's Chris, but you also have a great time, and you always leave with great memories."Visit Citysearch.com

In Short
This offshoot of a popular New Orleans hangout for politicians features decor of dark woods and comfortable booths, with a separate bar scene. Choice cuts of custom-aged beef arrive in sizzling butter on 500-degree plates. The menu also offers chicken, pork and seafood entrees along with Creole appetizers like shrimp remoulade. Family-style sides include gargantuan onion rings, creamed spinach and various styles of potatoes. Traditional homemade desserts like cheesecake and bread pudding conclude the meal.

Look Good
It's not on the menu, but consider ordering your steak "Oscar style," which means it's topped with asparagus, crab cakes and bearnaise sauce.

Who paid who off to make this overpriced myth of a good steak house. The service was as bad as the food. I travel the states constantly and I can say my experience here was a disaster. Thinking I was a little harsh, I checked with both clients and friend and found all that went experience the same dismal nite.

Was very disappointed with center city location; but could not have been happier with the service and food at their King Of Prussia location. Although known as a steak house, their fresh lobster is beyond compare and worth 5*'s

Mediocrity is the fare du jour at this franchise. Service is inconsistent. Food is generally good but is surpassed by other venues. Management is insensitive to service issues when brought to their attention. This is a volume operation. In fact, they set additional tables on event days such as Valentine's Day, Mother's Day so that you have no elbow room and waiters are carrying trays of dishes right above your head. At these prices, attentive service and comfort should be standard. I've eaten at 11 other Ruth's Chris around the country. The others are 5***** or 4****. Philadelphia's doesn't compare.

the last time i was there was in King of Prussia and we ordered surf and turf and my lobster tail was mussey and bad and instead of bringing me another one they gave us free desert for those prices I was very upset and the steak wasn't even that good. I would never go back again. I have found Sullivans in King of Prussia and Delaware is the best place to eat.
