The Nifty Fifty's Web site says something like, "This isn't just another restaurant; it's a way of life." And it's almost eerie how true that is. The saucy servers don't seem to realize that the '50s are long past and that the Fonz was just a character on a '70s TV show. There's a real Arnold's-type ambience here, with an all-retro jukebox blasting era-appropriate tunes, poodle skirts, neon everywhere and a cool red-white-and-black color scheme with shiny silver appointments. The food -- burgers, dogs, chicken, BBQ beef, -- is all super fresh and made to order. Not to mention cheap. And the big, fat breakfasts with fresh-squeezed OJ are among the best around. Also fun are the huge fountain soda (real vanilla Coke, anyone?) and milkshake menus. The shakes are huge and wonderfully thick. The upbeat atmosphere, no-frills food and reasonable prices make any of the handful of area Nifty Fifty's a great place to take the family. Kids will love the bright lights and high energy, and adults -- filled with good food and warm memories -- just might find themselves wanting to head to Make-Out Point.

    i used to live in philly thrn my family moved to RI for my fathers job and there are no good restaunts around here and there so many place that are for sale and tons of places to build you sould try to make a NIFTY FIFTYS . Ps..... i remember being little and going there all the time it was the only restaunt that i wouldn't complane about !!!!

    I am from South Philly and we really miss the Nifty Fifty's that was here for almost 10 years. Their onion rings are the best and they had an absolutely fabulous breakfast for $5.00. Most of the breakfast places here are overpriced and they cater to the hipster crowd. Nifty Fifty's is a great family restaurant with great food and reasonably priced.

    Although I LOVE the Spaghetti Warehouse, I had to vote for this. The atmosphere is great and I love their shakes (not to mention the amount you get). ;)

    All there food is made fresh & the taste proves it!
    I have been eating there for years and am never disappointed

    it was my first job .. and our fammily would eat there every sunday before church and i now drive up and take my family
