Morton's The Steakhouse, the nation's premier steakhouse group, specializes in classic, hearty fare, serving generous portions of USDA prime aged beef, as well as fresh fish, lobster and chicken entrees. Morton's is famous for its animated signature tableside menu presentation: steaks, whole Maine lobsters and other main course selections, along with fresh vegetables, are presented on a cart rolled to your table, where the server displays and describes each menu item in appetizing and entertaining detail. The menu, which is the same at all locations, features a variety of favorite cuts, including a 24 ounce porterhouse, which is the house specialty; a 20 ounce New York sirloin and a 14 ounce double cut filet. Every Friday and Saturday nights, enjoy our famous slow roasted Prime Rib. Morton's Prime Rib is a double cut, served bone-in and roasted to a perfect medium rare. Due to limited availability of this item, we suggest you reserve your order when making your reservation.

When I heard the the former Mayor Fat Azz Ed Rendel , now the Governor ate there for free , as he did almost everywhere, I refused to go again. The food is great but the company you have to keep with a guy like him in the room is tooo much, I'm a taxpayer !!!!
Wonder where he eatis Harrisburg,Catalono's ???

or just for an intimate dinning experience.

I have been to steakhouses all around the world but nowhere leads me back to a good consistent high quality steak like Morton's. I have done capital Grill, Ruth Chris, Smith/Wollen, Dierdoff/Harts, etc... All very good meals. But nothing sets me off with an orgasmic first bite of NY Strip like Mortons. From the first bite to the last you are eating a quality, well cooked, DENSE piece of meat that has been served in an up scale environment. The visual description does get old if you go there often but a good presentation when bringing Morton virgins. Get to know the Matree d' and become a VIP. Free after dinner drinks for the table. One person was correct, it does get loud in the main dining room. Grab some more friends and get a private room. Its my only bittch. Cant wait to go back.

  • Very disappointed

    Review rating : 1out of 5   densmyth - 02/20/2007

Before going I already knew the prices were too high and the portions were too large for normal individuals but I and 4 others went anyway. Wow, was I disappointed. First, it's a very noisy place! I ordered a steak medium rare and it arrived almost uncooked. Yikes, this is a famous steak house?! The waiter agreed and rushed the steak back to the kitchen. Some time later it was returned and it was beyond well done. The waiter agreed again and offered another steak. But my friends were already well into their meals so I declined. The waiter sent the manager over later and he tried to solve the problem by offering a free dessert but I hadn't come there for pie and I declined. He agreed that the steak was poorly cooked, apologized profusely and did not charge for my meal. I thought he responded well under the circumstances but I'll never go back!

Best food, atmosphere, service and quality in the city. Also my favorite in many other cities.

  • Top-notch cuisine & service

    Pros:
Morton's provided the perfect experience for the special occasion I was celebrating. As compared with several other of the fine steakhouses in the area, I enjoyed Morton's for the slightly-less-stuffy service. While they, of course, conducted a supremely professional dining experience, and beautiful ambience, they also made us feel very welcome and were more personable than I would have expected. This was quite refreshing - especially in Philadelphia, where I find the waitstaff at many establishments to be snobbish.
    Cons:
The visual menu presentation is a little strange; the food they're trying to entice you with looks a little bit like plastic. I think a verbal presentation is more appetizing as it leaves more to the imagination!
