Marra's is a South Philly favorite. If you live in that endlessly fascinating part of town, it's likely the place your parents went on their first date; pizza at Marra's was probably one of the places you and your friends went to on those first out-without-the-parents excursions. It's also a local hot spot before a game at the nearby sports arenas -- an unfussy family place with everything you would expect from an aging institution. Service is South Philly friendly. On a good night, that might mean chatty and casual, on a bad night attitude-y and slow. The atmosphere is pure old-time South Philly: wood-and-red-vinyl booths, old-looking photos, etc. If you go expecting upscale Italian, you're going to be disappointed. There are traditional pasta-house favorites, such as ravioli and spaghetti doused in the house gravy, and mussels and calamari. The main draw, though, is the incomparable thin-crust pizza made in brick ovens. Portions are huge and prices very reasonable. -- Margaret Battistelli

    Dog food.........yech! Ate there MANY years ago and hated it. Waited until many years later to try it again hoping it would be better, and STILL hated it........and my husband feels the same way. I'm not giving it a third try when there are other restaurants around with better tasting food............don't like their pizza either.

    I never had a bad pizza at Marra's. Brick oven, crusty, a favorite
    of ours.

    Truly authentic italian A family run business been eating there for 43 years food is great pizza is great and mike is still there making pizza what more can you ask for

    I give this place 5 stars because the food was great and thats what we're rating...but if I was to rate the service I would give it 2 stars...the waitress was way to busy to give us good service. They should maybe consider putting an extra server on. We went our entire meal with empty drinks. Not once did she come back to check on us...but she was running around like crazy the entire time. The pizza was GREAT!!!! And I will be back for sure
