For more than 20 years, this restaurant, has been the epicenter of Chinatown. The large photos on the rear wall reflect the China that was dark with lacquered wood, soft lighting, and a calm that is missing in the big, noisier places. They first made famous the Phoenix roll- lobster, shrimp, crab, chicken, mushrooms and bean sprouts rolled in batter and fried. They also serve a pupu platter, so you have an idea that this is Chinese for American palates. Everything is tasty, and dependable, and the non-adventurous diner will love the atmosphere and the menu. Even those who need more excitement, will enjoy the sweet and spicy grandpa chicken, or spicy sesame noodles. Lo mein is not all. Check with management for free or discounted parking.

Orlando Steve
I dscovered Louis & the Imperial Inn the first week they opened in 1974 and haven't stopped going there or loving it in the 34 years since! (My children and grandchildren love it as much as I do.)
Their food is outstanding and their waitstaff...most of whom have been there for many years themselves...are the best I've ever seen.
If you like steamed clams, don't miss their clams in black bean sauce and I'd walk several miles in the rain for two of their appetizers: the pork shu mei and the very delicate and tasty shrimp dumplings.
Whether it's authentic chinese food you're looking for (don't miss their dim sum lunches) or the Americanized version that you're familiar with, you can't go wrong at the Imperial Inn! By the way, because there's been very little turnover in their kitchen through the years, you never have to worry about consistency from from one trip to the next.
If you go, tell Louis or Danny that Steve (now living in Orlando) sent you!Add Commenttravel 1 hr each way

we love eating at the imperial, the food is always hot and excellent, we don't get there too often, yet the waitstaff remembers us and what we order. best chinese food we ever ate, different and better then any other we have been too. thanks
The food is very good

Was not that great......
I went there on a date last night. Food was O.K. and service was all right. Pu Pu Platter was cold and no condimemts. had to ask for them.
The Best Chinese Food Around
I have been going to the Imperial Inn for years. The food is excellent, and the service is supurb. Try the Peking Duck black bean Calamari or special order the Lobster Salad. Delicious!!
Ling family favorite

Our family has been eating here for more years than I can remember. The food is always a treat, from seabass to duck the entrees exceed expectations. The staff even prepared some of grandmom Ling's family recipies for special occasions in the banquet rooms. I've noticed guests ordering the same entrees we have served for dinners in several courses-they always have pleased faces and thank us for the opportunity to try "new" things.
Excellent food
The Imperial is never a disappointment.
Excellent food and service. My family and I go once a month here for either lunch or dinner. We highly recommend.Lowell091003's Review

Our experience at the Imperial Inn went from bad to worse very quickly. The food was alright but I've enjoyed the food at Panda Express and other fast food chinese restaurants more and for a lot less. I got the grandpa chicken and it was like they just grilled up some chicken and through some BBQ sauce on it from the local grocery store. Then in my haste to leave the place I signed the credit card slip with a 20% tip and forgot to tear off the merchant copy and put them both in my wallet by accident. The waitress came over and was extremely rude about it and treated me like a criminal, like I intentially put it in my wallet. I really regret the tip I left after that. I advise anyone not to go to this restaurant, the food is bland and the help is very unfriendly.
