When you say Buca di Beppo, you've said a mouthful. (Literally, what you've said is "Joe's basement," because the first Buca was opened in a basement, presumably by Joe.) But the chain has grown, apparently because people love its over-the-top Italian-kitsch feel, its extra-exuberant staff and its impossibly large family-style portions. And speaking of family, children will love the ambiance and the food (what kid doesn't like pasta?) Guests are encouraged to share among their own group, as well as chat up diners around them. Think of your Nonna's kitchen, if Nonna had a penchant for overindulging in homemade wine. Though Buca does not serve top-of-the-line, innovative Italian cuisine (they call it immigrant Southern Italian cooking), you can find all the tried-and-true dishes, including fried calamari, baked pasta, spaghetti aglio olio, linguine with clam sauce or marinara and various marasalas and parmigianas. It's a terrific family eatery that almost serves as two outings in one, since the restaurant itself is worth a tour. But it's definitely not the place to go for a romantic date, unless your idea of romance includes the Pope's head on a platter.

not my kind of Italian
We tried 2 different Buca Di Beppo. Neither are worth the visit.
This is nothing like REAL Italian food! Not like I cook, nor like my Mom or Mother-in-law cooks!Add Commentwok
wok makes this place go. i'll go to buca just to support him. what an awesome manager. food is decent as well.
Friendly!!
The staff was so friendly here and they gave us a tour of the kitchen. The food was good. I would recommend this for families because it's very group friendly and has large servings.
Pretty Average
Took my Italian family for a Sunday dinner and wasn't very impressed. Service was very slow and not very perceptive, we had to ask for BREAD and parmesan!! Red Gravy was too sweet and chunky. Fried Calamari and DiBeppo salad were excellent but would have loved to have BREAD with the salad and not after. MAGGIANO'S is a much better chain.
GREAT ATMOSHERE
ME AND WIFE HAD A VERY GREAT EXPERIENCE. THE BEST GARLIC BREAD AROUND. YOU NEED TO BRING AN ARMY WITH YOU TO BE ABLE TO EAT ALL THE FOOD THEY GIVE YOU. HIGHLY RECOMMEND
Pretty Good
The garlic bread is the absolute best!!!!! I didnt exactly enjoy the family oriented theme. Because what I wanted everyone had already eaten. But overall the food and the hospitality was great.
Best Chianti
We enjoyed all of the food, including the garlic chicken penne in cream sauce. The chianti was the best I have ever tasted. It was full bodied and smooth. Usually I stay away from chianti because it has a sharp taste.
Not for everyone

If you like commercial italian 'cuisine' served family style, then this place is for you! Service was efficient and friendly though we went on a week night... was not overly impressed with the food, though the quality is about on par, if not a tad better than Italian Bistro or Olive Garden.
FABULOUS!!!
Five times we've visited Buca and we always go with a crowd of friends. The service is friendly, the garlic bread is the best any of us has ever had and the green beans and roasted veggies were superb!! I think we have eaten just about everything on the menu, not to forget to mention 4 or 5 specials of the day we devoured! We were fortunate enough to find Buca and believe me, we recommend it to everyone we know! We just absolutely love it!!!!
over rated
What a disappointment. I took my college aged nephew and girlfriend to dinner at the Exton location. Since there were three of us it was recommended to order the small portion. I can't believe I spent 62.00 on food and we all walked away hungry. The chicken marsala came out with two pieces of chicken, and the manicotti had four pieces on it. The tiramisu was inedible, as the amount of rum soaking the ladyfingers could have given anyone a DUI. Terrible. I will stick to a much better chain restaurant The Macaroni Grille, and tell others not to waste their money or time.
