    Our Take

Voodoo Doughnut is on the map for its round-the-clock sugar-induced mania and freak fest vibe. Where else can you grab a late night "cock-n-balls" doughnut under a cruller chandelier? This is the perfect downtown pre/post-show destination, replete with eccentric and often spontaneous low-to-no-cover live shows, legal wedding ceremonies and doughnut-eating contests.

This place blow's. This is coming from a 270 lb carb adict who had traveled the world for the perfect doughnut. Just because you make the d-nut in some funny shape and charge an arm and leg for it does not make it a good one. These people are racist to boot. Their cock and balls doughnut only comes in chocolate. Granted this large doughnut is probably correct in size but at least be a bit creative by making a medium sized C&B with vanilla icing and a small C&B with maple icing. You could also make one with rainbow icing so you have everything covered. Now thats being creative! Don't just stick a pretzel in it, use the mind!

Their vegan donuts are slightly reminiscent of banana bread; I actually prefer them to the normal kind. Mmmmmm vegan donuts!

    • Not just Doughnuts

This is the place you've heard about and read about. They have been on the Tonight Show, Letterman. No Reservations The Splendid Table, in cooking and travel magazines, Elvis has even been sighted there..

You're missing something quintessentially Portland if you don't stop in. Try the Bacon Maple Bar or the signature Voodoo doughnut with the pretzel stake in it.
