In Short
This dimly lit bistro provides hearty fare in its heavy-brick dining room with cozy tables, a blazing fireplace and tuxedoed service. Diners sample its legendary crisp, thick-sliced onion rings with house dipping sauce and its signature baked sweet onion soup with Gruyere cheese. The bone-in New York steak is 20 ounces. Side it with sweet corn casserole or béarnaise asparagus. Leave room for decadent chocolate-mousse silk pie with a candied almond crust and chocolate ganache.

Roccasalva's review
We have been customers for about 7 years now at the Ringside. My wife Hope and I have never been disappointed with the service or the food. We are always greeeted in such a friendly manner by Shelby (also the name of one of my cars) the Matre'd at the "Ringside". One time Shelby put on a special dinner for my wifes High School Culinary Team when the came to Portland for State Competition from Bend. It was the night before the competiton, and this meal really inspired the team of young aspiring chef's to go and take honors the next day. Great food, friendly staff, thanks for just being there for us the customer, we love all of you, and send many customers to you.

boring

Used to be a favorite of mine but the Ringside feels old and tired. Yeah, the steaks are good and the onion rings the best, but I'm bored.
So so...
Some reason my younger son likes the Ringside, so that is where we celebrated his birthday a few times, but I have gotten to the point, when i drop over $200 for a dinner for four, I want some enjoyment out of it... the wait staff's nose is scraping the ceiling , God only knows where their eyes are, anywhere but on the clients... I had to hunt them down to get my water glass refilled, I asked for a slice of lemon with, had to ask for it twice to get it eventually... the food was nothing special, the dessert even less... the only friendly people are a valet, although, not the fastst service, due to understaffing...altogether, I rather fire up the grill then go to the trouble driving to the Ringside...
