Owner Ty Dupuis is a god among hotshot pizza-tossers, and he can build a pie in 17 seconds flat (he once proved this feat at the annual Pizza Expo Pizza Olympics in Las Vegas). Located in the heart of the Montavilla district, Flying Pie is the original location of this three-pizzeria operation, where all pizzas are made with whole milk mozzarella, provolone and Romano cheeses and topped with fresh-cut vegetables and some of the choicest meats around. While hanging out, enjoy playing video arcade games like Pac-Man and Spy Hunter, and when the weather cooperates, sit outside on the picnic tables. Don't be shocked, though, if your photo is taken by the management and becomes part of the decor. -- Jason Smith

Take the day after off.
This is the best pizza in town but it will mess you up and you may want to stay home the next day to deal with the after effects. The garlic will kick your butt and people may not want to be around you the next day.
Add CommentDecided to try it ....
My husband and I have been going through the "City's Best" one by one. This pizza was amazing! We went to the Lake Oswego location. We have tried most if not all of the "best" pizzerias recomended by friends and polls ..... this is hands down the best! : )
Going to Porland in July '06
We are going to be visiting Portland in July. Looking for reviews of this pizza place, but none are shown. We love pizza. Anybody have any good suggestions?
Best Pizza in town
We have been going to Flying Pie for as long as I can remember. In fact I remember somewhere in the back of my head that we use to have him fly Pizza in for b-days and ect from Idaho. Before flying pie moved to Portland. I have never had a bad pie there. All I can say is ummmm!
PIZZA RECOGNITION
TY IS AN OLD FRIEND I HAVEN'T SEEN IN YEARS. WHEN I LIVED IN PORTLAND IT WAS A SPECIAL EVENT TO HAVE FLYING PIE! MY ENTIRE FAMILY LOVES IT!
.
I am a pizza queen and I would have to say after going to all these pizza places, Beautiful Pizza and Hot Lips pizza would have to be the best because they have more variety and meet the needs to people who also can't or don't want to have dairy. Beautiful Pizza even carries soy cheese which is completely VEGAN....YAY!!!!!
Didn't live up to reviews
We must have gone there on an off night then. Flying Pie's pizza was good, but I've had much better pizza in Portland - Old Town Pizza, for example. We were both disappointed.
Without a doubt, THE BEST!!
My wife and I have visited alot of different pizza establishments. Flying Pie is by far the best out there. The portions, the service, and the atmosphere are supreme. Being on the westside, our Flying Pie is located in Lake Oswego, but we look forward to visiting all of them. "You've had the best, now go forth and spread the news to the rest." That's what you'll be telling your friends to do once you've taken them to Flying Pie!
The Best Pizza...Anywhere
The title says it all...I have visited Pizzarias all over the United States and several in Europe. None of them could match the consistant quality Of Flying Pie. These pizzas are also very large and satifying. I have gone to Flying Pie with people who can eat half a large at other places in one sitting...at flying pie they were only able to munch through three pieces because of the amount of toppings. Four grown men can buy a $20 dollar pizza and leave completely satified. OH yeah...Tell them to add the Garlic Sauce...Most excellent.
