With just a modicum of Irish memorabilia, County Cork is a more convincing Irish pub than most around town. This small, comfortable bar and restaurant features church pew booths, windows that open to the street, a weathered bar, a small stage and a dart game area.

The minimalist approach plays out in County Cork's menu as well. You'll find terrific house-roasted turkey and corned beef or Reuben sandwiches, fish and chips, Scotch eggs (deep-fried hard-boiled eggs encased in sausage), bangers and mash and a ploughman's platter. There's also less-expensive dishes like soup with soda bread, potato salad and classic burgers (which can be upgraded with mushrooms, onions and peppers; or a blanket of Tillamook cheddar or Swiss.)

Unfortunately, the new owners discontinued the horseradish/buttermilk dressing that made side salads at County Cork a unique culinary pleasure. But there are 22 beers on the bar's brew list (domestic to European) available as half-pints, imperial pints or by the pitcher. Usually packed most weeknights, there's a charming patio to handle the overflow during good weather. -- Jo Ostgarden

They may not have the horseradish/buttermilk dressing any more, but the garlic feta dressing is pretty darn good!

Haven't heard the live music there, but the pub has a comfortable, homey atmosphere, good beer selection, and quite tasty food. I'm not sure my cardiologist would approve of the scotch egg, but it's really good!

Looking for something different? Then this is the place. The food is well prepared and the beer is great. Try the Scottish Egg appetizer. It was very good. They need to fix up the place, and put lights on their sign, but all in all, it is a nice evening here.

This place is a little gem. As standard pub grub goes this place is excellent. The selection of beers is top notch and atmosphere is comfortable and cozy. You won't be dissapointed
