With lumberjack-sized pancake portions and plenty of dark corners for diners seeking a little obscurity in an otherwise bright and sunny spot, Cameo Cafe has found the recipe for popularity. Breakfast packs 'em in here. Cameo's signature entrees are strawberry waffles and massive "full-acre" blueberry pancakes, which spill over the rim of the plate.
Patrons can relax on the grapevine-covered patio while devouring raspberry-topped French toast or crab Benedict. The house bread is made fresh daily on site with whole grains, polenta, bran, buttermilk, poppy seeds and honey. Lunchtime brings a traditional selection of salads, sandwiches and soups. -- Jo Ostgarden

fair fare
We went out of our way to go here after reading your "best of" article and we were quite dissapointed. yes, the staff is very nice and the blueberry pancake did SPILL completely off the plate, but it was not cheap and the pancake was not very good. It looked much better than it tasted. It had a strange aftertaste. I would not put it on your top pancake list, that is for sure.
Add CommentDrove 600 + miles
My family and I drove from the San Francisco Bay Area on the way to Canada for vacation. I love blueberry pancakes so when I saw the Cameo Cafe West on the list of top restaurants, we had to make it our first stop. We drove all the way to Portland the first day, just so in the morning we could try their great pancakes. Those were the best blueberry pancakes we ever had!! The waitress was so nice and when we told her we drove 600 miles she couldn't believe it. We will be back! The Burnett Family
Nasty Food
The food is rather nasty. How did it get in the top 15?
The Prices are not good either. I would rather have breakfast at Denny's.
What a great place!
I absolutely LOVE the Cameo. Recently changing ownership, the Cameo has retained all the charm and service that Charlie and Sue Gee had built. I love the food, and reccommend it to all.
not so great
The Cameo on its last health inspection got only one point above failing...I might think twice now.
Craig7501's Review

Sue Gee also has another restaurant named The Cameo on NE Sandy that my wife and I love to go to. They have the greatest breakfasts. Their dinners are also fantastic.
