Sitting in a southeast suburb of Cleveland, Austin's might have come straight from the Southwest. After all, the name says it all: Things here are, indeed, smokin'. With a variety of barbecued treats, smoked beef ribs and brisket among 60-plus menu items, as well as a plethora of Old West artifacts adorning the walls, Austin's certainly has that Southwest flavor down pat. Blackened ahi tuna and Carolina crab cake stand out among the appetizers. From there, the choices are nearly limitless. From smoked pork chops to pastas, Austin's filet to cowboy steak, grilled orange roughy to the fresh catch of the day, there's an entree for every craving. For those who insist of dessert, a slice of Dottie's pecan pie will finish an evening right.

If this is the same outfit that had to close the Twinsburg location- it was one of the worst meals out in years- Glad they left Twinsburg!

jselectro - 02/15/2007With the closing of the nearby Tony Roma's, where I was never served anything but succulent ribs, I took my family and friends to Austin's. We were all served ribs so chewy they could have come from a brontosaurus. Combine that with a pedestrian sauce and you have a a thoroughly disappointing meal. Granted, it may have been an off night, but after spending a few hundred dollars for this uninspired fodder, I shall not return.
