Although the space is small, it's mighty popular. The funky interior, which has housed the family-owned restaurant since 1937, is littered with dollar bills signed by enthusiastic and perhaps alcohol-infused customers. It's so popular that on on a weekend night, you may have to resign yourself to an hourlong wait. Yes, the portions are large, but they're served up with good-natured cheer, which makes you forgive Thurman Cafe for allowing you such gastromonic -- and criminal -- indulgences.
