A favorite since its opening in 1954, Rubinos influence has extended far beyond the borders of Bexley. Fans travel from around the city to worship at this altar of surely what must have been a pioneering move into Midwestern-style (thin-crust, square slice) piemaking. Even most large pizzas are still under $10. The interior visuals are spare and utilitarian, but the place smells like heaven. The menu is straightforward and Spartan: those who opt out of pizza can have spaghetti with meatball, meat sauce, or plain marinara. Service is friendly and diners find several booths and tables, along with an old pinball machine and photos of athletes both great and local. But most visitors are taking out: to teams, birthday parties and to children waiting eagerly at home. Chances are, it's a family tradition.

Rub's Pizza
Jancathy - 05/30/2008I grew up in Bexley and have fond memories of picking up pies for my family and eating my own pizza in the car driving home with those pies. By the way, I lived on Merkle Road, so Rubino's was only a few minutes away. I now live in Greensboro, NC, but whenever I visit, I make sure I eat at Rub's at least once. Good things never fade away.

prncss1974 - 03/29/2007My family has gone to Rubino's for as long as it has been open. My grandfather owned a gas station in Bexley and it was a special treat for my mom to get Rubino's. Every Christmas Eve we head to Rub's for our Christmas Eve dinner. This became a tradition after my grandfather passed away. I love Rub's. The sausage is my favorite. The taste has changed and the faces are new, but overall it is still a great pizza! And there salads are awesome too. Best dressing ever! My mom loves the spaghetti. Worth making a part of your family tradition.
