Although it's been around since 1974, Rotolo's didn't expand until almost 30 years later. Then, in the space of a few months, it added three more stores, along with the original in Grandview. But although the decor is more modern, the concept remains the same: carryout pizza and Italian grub. And take note: That's just carryout, not delivery or dining in, unless you enjoy chomping on your pie while standing in the middle of a high-traffic area. This simple formula seems to have worked: Rotolo's has garnered nearly a dozen awards, including a citation in Los Angeles magazine as one of America's top ten pizzerias. When people describe Rotolo's, the word "best" comes up a lot, despite the lack of fancy-schmancy ingredients. The pies are quite basic, really, with a thin crust, plenty of sauce and cheese, and the usual mushrooms, onion, anchovies and/or sausages toppings. In fact, customers appreciate the pizza so much that the other menu items -- lasagna, spaghetti and meatballs, and subs -- are often ignored. Still, no one seems to be complaining.

The BEST this pizza lover has ever had
KJWEBMAN - 05/31/2008This pizza is just loaded with flavor. You don't have to order extra anything. It is one of the few places where I've never been disappointed. I live in Cincinnati now, but any time we visit Columbus we make sure we stop and get a Rotolo's pizza. The Rotolo family sure has built a winner.

The best pizza in Columbus
s9mit45 - 01/12/2007I have been going to rotolos since they first opened. Although I live in Grove City, I will travel to get Rotolo's pizza. It is the best and they don't cheat you. It is hard for my wife and I to eat a whole pizza, because it is so filling.
It has been and always will be the best in my mind.

carolynsmith - 04/25/2006I've been eating Rotolo's most of my life and can say it's always tasted the same...The pizza is fresh, as are the subs, salads, and pasta dinners...The meatballs are made right in the store, and they are perfect...Great quality, along with a friendly family...
