Here's a scoop: Spices and herbs can make good ice cream, and you'll find out why at Jeni's. At this adventurous ice cream spot in the North Market, bold and brazen flavors add up to some of the coolest treats around. The Queen City Cayenne is infused with Belgian chocolate, Vietnamese cinnamon and cayenne pepper, while the Cocoa Zin is a swirl of dark chocolate and red zinfandel wine. Salty caramel, on the other hand, is reminiscent of candy-coated pretzels. Of course there are the basics: vanilla, peach and lemon yogurt, as well as a rotating variety of fruit and vegetable sorbets (from old reliables like raspberry to out-there cucumber and piesporter). Ingredients are all fresh and whole, limiting dieters' selections. Although Jeni's is a bit pricier than most ice creams, each scoop is generous and almost enough for two people -- or one very hungry fellow. The fun here is in trying all the flavors; the proprietor, Jeni, and her crew often come up with new and sometimes downright weird combinations. But, hey, it's located in the North Market, which has all kinds of food, so it's an appropriate ending to any culinary experiment.

    My mom (from the Seattle Area) had wanted to go to Jeni's because she had seen an show on the food network rating Jeni"s as the best Icecream in the nation. The man working at the Grandview Jeni's was awesome. He reccomended a fantastic place for lunch and then we went back for Icecream. This is sure to be a stop every year she comes to visit. The waffle cones are fantastic. I had the Lemon Blueberry icecream and mom had the wonderful Cherry sorbet. It was called the best icecream in the U.S. I think it is the best in the world. Creative flavors and FANTASTIC service puts Jeni's number one in my book. :)

    This is the BEST ice cream ever!! You can sample all the flavors they have, and I can honestly say that everyone that I tried was fantastic!! My favorite would be the Salty Caramel....fantastic!! Just cant say enough about this place other I wish there were more of them around!! Try it, I guarantee you will like it : )

    I first discovered Jeni's Ice Creams while on a trip to Columbus from my hometown of New York City. I fell in love with her salted caramel. Reminds me of those wonderful little candies in France. And her dark cocoa gelato is by far the best available anywhere. Even in NYC, we have nothing to compare with her creations. I crave her ice cream, and regularly have her ship me a few pints. My current favorite is her caramel bourbon pecan -- decadent! Should be illegal! Columbus residents -- you are lucky people! It's ALMOST enough to convince me to move there.
