Drive up to the entrance of the Hyde Park Steakhouse and your vehicle will be placed among expensive (and usually foreign) cars by the courteous valet. The restaurant's inside is equally elegant and understated: Rooms are softly lit, with a discreet bar area set aside for smokers. The temptation to linger over appetizers such as oysters Rockefeller or lobster bisque is strong. The salad course comes next, offering hearts of romaine, goat cheese and greens, or Hyde Park Wedge with bacon and candied pecans. The major contenders for the main course are meat and fish. The first category includes basic cuts or gussied-up versions named after sports figures. For instance, spicy Steak Au Nicklaus contains fresh peppercorns and bordelaise sauce atop a New York strip. The seafood is more straightforward: lobster tails, king crab, skewered shrimp and more, along with surf 'n' turf. Side dishes are enough for two.

Expansive-Not Quite Worth It
blingking19 - 04/29/2007My first visit I had the impression it was more of a upscale restaurant-but it really wasn't. It isn't what it used to be and that is for sure. I was quite impressed with the wine selection and that's about it. I wouldn't take anyone here I was trying to impress, the bill is hefty and I'm not sure it's worth it. If you really want the best steak in town go to The Hickory House in Powell, layed back but THE BEST. For a better steak and a upscale and trendy experience go to Mitchell's Steakhouse Crosswoods, you will pay for the atomsphere.

bre6422 - 02/20/2007I have one word that sums it up for Hyde Park , "STEAKS" they are the best I have ever had ! They are better than what I can fix at home and I feel that ; I know my steaks and how to fix them ! But Hyde has got me beat hands down ! Thanks....

Very high price to pay for presentation. The same prime steak can be purchased with the same flavor and consistency from a lessor steak house. Hard to believe others buy from the same supplier for their meats.

powellprints - 02/20/2007The steak was burnt on the outside which they did say it would be seared. There where 6 of us and not one of us where satisfied with the quality of the meal compared to the price.
Great atmosphere
jenn76rn - 01/03/2007My husband and I enjoyed an evening at Hyde Park for my 30th birthday. As a former high end restaurant worker, I can judge service and the service at Hyde Park was the best we have ever received! The steaks were appetizing not only to the stomach but also to the eyes. Maybe you need to be a true Buckeye to enjoy the atmosphere at Hyde Park!
Great Romantic Restaurant
lefthandedmoney - 06/18/2006For our 15th anniversary, we had a great romantic dinner at Hyde Park on Old Henderson Rd. Make sure you tell them you want the table for two in the back corner. Oh yea, the Steak Kosar with Lobster on top is fantastic!
Loud People, too expensive
kristen168 - 08/25/2005The steak was good but we were seated right beside very loud people even though there weren't many people in the restaurant. Way too expensive for such a roadhouse atmosphere.
