Mama Santa's pizza has a legendary presence in historic Little Italy -- patrons will walk by the neighborhood's ritzier bistros to actually wait in line for one of Mama's homemade pies. The ambience is super casual and a great place to get in touch with one's inner teenager -- checked tablecloths and Chianti bottles are the sole efforts to dress up the wood-paneled dining rooms. Sicilian home-style dishes include all the staples; fettucini is available with garlic and oil, red sauce, and a variety of other sauces and toppings. Another good choice is the veal pizzaiola, which is prepared with white wine, onions, green pepper and mushrooms. But for over 60 years it's been Mama Santa's homemade pizza that brings customers back time and time again. No silly toppings like pineapple or ham are included on the menu here. Instead go for the classic anchovy or pepperoni. Beyond the pizza, the other delightful surprise at Mama Santa's is the economical price, perfect for families dining on a budget, or teens on a study date. Best of all, you can always order takeout and enjoy Mama Santa's home-style goodies, well, at home.

Mediocre at best!
I drove from North Ridgeville because of all the accolades of Mama Santa's pizza. I was disappointed. The pizza crust was a bit dry, the toppings were fairly sparce and not even close to fresh...had to be canned/dehydrated/frozen. I left with a taste of Lipton's Onion Soup Mix in my mouth! After 2 pies, 2 Pepsi's, 2 beers, the total was $50.05 and I could of got better from Georgios, 2 12packs of Pepsi, and a 12 of adult suds for the same price and not had to squeeze my (already small) car into a door ding mill of a parking place or pay a tip.
That being said, the wait staff was top notch and attentive. Kudos waitstaff!
I'd pass on Mama Santa's....IMHO!Add CommentOverrated pie!

How they got Cleveland's best is beyond me...this rating puts Cleveland pizza in the back woods in comparison to pizzeria's in Chicago and New York. Good crust.
Since the 60's

In the 60's we were all in college nearby and the only place for pizza after a date was Mama Santa's. The arthouse movie theater was across the street and showed Marx Bros., WC Fields, silent films, etc. When we are back in town for a visit, we just have to stop. It's still great!

The best Sicilian style pizza ever

I lived in Little Italy for over 2 years, right above Mama Santa's. I ate there all the time, and I know the owner Danny very well. The pizza is outstanding, I can say nothing of the service b/c I never ate it inside, too many tables jammed together. Their cavatelli with sausage is the best ever. A very important note however is you have to eat there at the beginning of the week when the sauce is made fresh, too late in the week and the sauce (especially when you eat it with pasta) is very greasy. Don't pass this place up!! It gets my number one vote always
