At the Inn on Coventry, the cooking and atmosphere are so reminiscent of mom's house that the temptation will be to show up for breakfast in a bathrobe and slippers. This restaurant is worth the minimal effort of slipping on some Levi's, however. Unlike cookie-cutter breakfast chains where the meals feel like they were made on an assembly line, here the food has that mysterious, prepared-with-love feel. Vegetarian eggs benedict? Yes, indeed, this combination family restaurant/hip Coventry enclave has it. Pancakes in multiple flavors like banana and pecan? Not a problem. A variety of beer? If this is preferred to coffee with lunch, the Inn waitstaff won't judge -- it is Coventry after all. The biggest problem with this place is how to kill time on a Saturday or Sunday morning while waiting to be seated for the world-class brunch. Window shopping at any of the unusual Coventry shops, or getting a head start on a caffeine fix with a coffee to go from next door are agreeable ways to while away the moments.

Try Eggs Sausalito (benedict w/artichoke instead of bacon) or Mando (w/avocado). Stay away from bacon/sausage at brunch (cold & overcooked)

Unless you're a regular, the staff is not the nicest in town. I ate in only once, waited 40 minutes for an omelette along with two other breakfast entree's for my friends. The server only came by to drop off the food and the check after bringing our beverages. No apologies for the wait or the luke warm food. When I do eat there on rare occasion, I get the breakfast special to go. The trick is to get there right after you order it so it doesn't have time to get cold!!
