    There are plenty of fine reasons to visit this cozy Tremont establishment, but many people come here just to see Nikko. But Nikko isn't a bartender or an entertainer (although he'll happily perform if you ask nicely enough). Nikko is the pub's resident robotic monkey. Yes, just ask the bartender to "Show me the monkey," and a flying winged monkey appears in a box above the bar, flashing and crashing like a drunken cuckoo clock. Hey, every bar needs a gimmick.

    Open since early 2002, the Flying Monkey Pub brings a sharp sense of humor to the Tremont neighborhood's thriving bar scene. And Nikko isn't the only reason locals make this a favorite stop on pub crawls. The Flying Monkey also features a lush hardwood atmosphere, board games like chess and backgammon, 10 beers on tap, wine by the bottle or glass, and a friendly, talkative staff, all eager to show you the monkey.

      My first time at the Monkey was last Sat. during the pub crawl. This is my new favorite watering hole. F-U-N-!!!

      now this is what a pub is all about-i spent the day looking at apartments all over the city. i stumbled into the monkey and thought--this is the place to live. so i settled in tremont.
