People in Montgomery don't discuss their whereabouts on weekend mornings. They're trying to keep this breakfast mecca as their own little secret. But try as they may, a dab of maple syrup on a tie or a fleck of powdered sugar on the chin always gives it away. Folks will wait up to an hour on weekend mornings, standing around in a parking lot no matter what the weather, just for a bite of a warm Dutch Baby -- a fluffy, baked, skillet-sized puff of a pancake, stuffed with sugary apples and topped with powdered sugar that's big enough to feed two. With more than a dozen different pancakes, including banana, chocolate chip and apple cinnamon, this place earns its name as the one and only place for pancakes in the Tri-State. Omelettes, thick-cut bacon and other breakfast items are offered, as are several lunch choices -- but those are for rookies. -- Annie McManis

Good, and sloppy
SarahMargi - 07/04/2008Your jam cup might have catsup on it, so be sure not to spread that on your toast. Otherwise, huge menu of intersting breakfast fare. A little better consistency would however be appreciated.

not as good as expected
MaggieSB - 05/30/2008I went to this place one weekend, expecting it to be really wonderful. It was mediocre at best. Food was decent but took a longer than average time to arrive. Service was ok, not terrific.
Next weekend I went to Breakfast Club in Lebanon and was blown away by the quality of the food and the friendly service.

Good Food, Arrogant Staff
cincy3waychili - 01/21/2007These dillweeds acted as if we were an interruption instead of the purpose of their business. The food is good, but not worth the crap we had to put up with. Why are they still in business?
Rude hostess and managers
choppe1 - 03/02/2005The food is great however, I only wish the hostess and management were not so rude to their customers.
You feel as if they could care less if you come to this restaurants. I guess they feel they have enough business so they don't have to treat people nice. They make you feel like if you don't like something... to bad!
Please, let your management and hostess know it doesn't take much to smile and be kind to people... after all without us they wouldn't have their job at the Original Pancake house.
Also, I have been to other Original Pancake House restaurants in other states and they treat people very nice. We do love the food at this restaurant and we tell many people they should visit..
