Hippies, punks, young professionals, artists, old locals, business folks and suburban moms on girls' night out -- you'll see them all at The Comet. This popular Northside bar has found success in its down-to-earth style -- from its laid-back attitude, to its simple menu, to the music. The two-room restaurant and bar offers a menu of modified Mexican fare including a big-as-your-head burrito that is famous city-wide. Folks come for a late-night munch or a taste of the place's homemade salsa, washed down with Harp or Guinness from the tap or one of the dozens of bottled imported brews. The place is rarely overly crowded except during the popular Sunday-night bluegrass performances, a staple for folk and bluegrass fans. Occasionally, the place hosts other local acts, ranging from folk to hardcore punk. Music buffs young and old will appreciate the city's most diverse jukebox, which spins everything from '80s punk to classic rock.

    Stopped in for a quick drink after work with someone that knew about the Comet and stayed for dinner. Relaxed atmosphere and good food. Fresh salsas to go with the burrito - yum.

    If you like burritos and salsa then you are going to Love The Comets. They have the "Best" anywhere, I've been to California ,Mexico several times and couldn't get one there better!! Great Food!!

    Great food and ambiance. Hundreds of beers and a Buritto worth putting your hand in the fire to get. Well worth the trip.

    The staff is snobby, arrogant and makes you not want to return. I hope the owner catches on soon. I know a half dozen people who have stopped going for this reason. "WAIT STAFF, YOU ARE IN THE HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY, BE HOSPITABLE!"

    just a great little neigborhood joint thats worth stopping in for a couple beers. worth the trip!

    I like the different pockets you can sit in-and there are 3 pooltables-I like to take guys there to watch how they play the game-and if they cheat. i don't lnow that i'd want to walk in by myself-but for pool with a partner-oh yeah.
