From its stools in front to the waitress-serviced booths in back, Colosseo seems to have more seats than the monument for which it was named -- a good thing, since otherwise you'd feel as if you were standing on line at the DMV next door, especially on a typical busy Friday night. There's no menu posted (or even available, it seems), but it's easy to figure out what to order. Your choices are limited to calzones, pizza, and monster salads (to make your meal a smidge more healthy), as well as the occasional pepperoni roll or stack of garlic knots, but the pizzas are among the most popular in Port Jeff, and the custom-made calzones are so big, it's as if they folded a small pie in half. The calzones can be filled with whatever ingredients the chefs have on hand, and they're made to order, so you'll have time to grab a slice while you wait. Remember to bring your cash (or a checkbook): Like in ancient Rome, no credit cards are accepted.

    I actually opened this link thinking, "Ahh, they'll never have Colosseo's listed.. who ever includes Port jeff?" but I was pleasantly mistaken when I noticed it right in the top spot! Exactly where it deserves to be! They have the best crust I have ever tasted and their cheese slice has never been topped by any other in my mind; perfect ratio of cheese and delicious sauce. Yummm. They also happen to have the best rainbow ices in town! Get the large!
    I grew up at different time periods in Bay Ridge Brooklyn, all over Long Island, and Fresh Meadows Queens, but I currently reside in Los Angeles.. When my frequent and severe pizza cravings strike, the only pizza place that pops into my mind is Colosseo's. If you have never made it out there, its worth the trip to Port Jeff! The parking lot isn't all that glamorous, but if you just head right up the road, north on 112, you will run right into the harbor of Port Jefferson Village.. makes for a simple yet wonderful summer day!

    This Pizza is soooo good that I travel from Mattituck to Port Jefferson Sta. to have a pie and salad. It's difinitely worth the trip. Wish Colosseo would open a pizza store on the North Fork. It would be another gold mine for Colosseo. Think about!!!

    what happened to the huge calzones? I got one and it was smaller then my hand, beyond greasy, and had bearly any filling. They had hardly any options for fillings and when I finally got my order and saw how tiny it was I jokingly asked the girl what happened to the huge calzones I had heard about,she gave me a dirty look and was like "ummm no this is the only size we make them." When I asked for a side of sauce she rolled her eyes at me and slowly got it. Horrible experince, I dont recommend the place at all, and will never go back.

    I really had high expectations. having moved here from the south shore i was told that there was no where better to go for pizza. well, i tried it and i have to say I DON"T GET IT!! it is just so AVERAGE!! i really did a taste test of all the local pizzarias and for my $ the best is carnival or the pie. i'd forget this place.
