Not all the best pizzerias are tucked away in Brooklyn; just ask shoppers at The Source Mall in New Hyde Park and they'll point to the food court on the second floor. Umberto's has been serving authentic Sicilian pizzas fresh from the brick oven since 1965, with toppings as diverse as shrimp and homemade sausage. Umberto's is not your average food-court bistro, and once you've maxed out your credit cards, you can celebrate your new purchases with a bowl of gnocchi alla Napoletana or an appetizer of prosciutto e melone and scungilli marinara from the sea. The sheer diversity of the menu caters to those hungry for a gigantic Italian dinner as well as over-worked soccer moms who crave a 12-inch margherita with tomato and cheese in exchange for a little peace.

not all locations

The pizza in the NHP and Wantagh locations is first rate, but whoever included the location in The Source must be nuts or on the take. The pizza hasa the texture of having been frozen. For mall pizza the Sbarros @ Roosevelt Field is vastly superior.
Still for a very good slice, especially Sicilian, Umbertos in NHP and the one I visited in Wantagh are hard to surpass.Add Commenttry sicilian pizza only

They have the BEST sicilian ever. If you go, please just try the plain sicilian only. It is to die for. I am a pizza fanatic, I like to try different pizza places, but nothing tops theirs. But only their New Hyde park location has it. The other locations do not even come close.

I am a former Long Islander who resides in Broward County FLA. There is an UMBERTOS OF LI in Pompano Beach on the south west side of Atlantic Blvd just before the bridge. Same Pizza the best in Florida .
Decent Taste but horrible service

Their food tastes pretty good but their dine-in service is the worst. I am surprised anyone even eats there.
horrible service -- terrible food
Our party of eight waited over an hour to be served -- questions to the waiter were ignored and he had an attitude. When the food finally did arrive it was cold and without a doubt the worst italian food we have ever had. A compliant to the manager about our overall experience was met with distain and arrogance Would never go there again -- way overrated.
Great variety, Great taste, Best Pizza.

There is an Umberto's of New Hyde Park in Wantagh and its about a 1/2 mile from my school. I get pizza from there usually 3-5 times a week. Every kid I know goes to this pizza place, not only because of its proximity to the school(because there is a pizza place closer), but because there is a huge variety of pizza and it tastes amazing, especially after sitting in school all day. The service is always great, friendly people, friendly service, student discounts, not to mention quick deliveries despite the Friday or Saturday night rush. All in all, no matter the slice of pizza, or the pie, its always amazing and SCRUMPTIOUS.
GO FOR THE SALAD!
I have not tried thier pizza yet. When i go there I have thier salad. The best salads I have ever had.
BEST PIZZA ON THE EAST COAST
I COME UP FROM FLORIDA JUST TO EAT AT THIS REST. IT IS THE BEST. PIZZA IS OUT OF THIS WORLD. THE SICILLAN IS EXCELLENT. I EVEN TOOK TWO PIES BACK TO FLA. ON THE PLANE WITH ME.
The best sicilian pizza ever!
I have been going to their original pizza parlor in New Hyde Park for about 15 years and I have never had better sicilian pizza anywhere else and the staff has always been very courteous. Although I must say that I did try the one at the food court in the source mall and it couldn't even come close to their orignal. It is not the same.
A few years ago I moved out of the neighborhood and now live over an hour away, however I still go there on occasion to visit friends and on my way home I always stop and pick up a pie to bring home that's how good it is!!!!
