While it may sound like a nightclub full of extras from the film 'Shaft,' Big Daddy's is actually a down-home, southern restaurant where the drinks are as much fun as the meals. Start off with a Hurricane cocktail, and then wait for your appetite to grow, because the portions of Cripple Creek blackened gator with sweet chili mustard sauce are big enough to sustain an army of big daddies. Entrees like the Creole jambalaya will have you wishing you'd grown up down south, as will the St. Louis-style BBQ ribs. This Cajun food is seriously authentic (don't miss the Biloxi pretzel-fried oysters), so if you live on Long Island and haven't been to Big Daddy's, then you deserve to be eaten by an alligator.

FINE SOUTHERN AND CAJUN FOOD
My son and daughter-in-law live in Manhattan, one of the best places to go for all different types of food, they come all the way out to Massapequa to enjoy, what they call the best Southern and Cajun food and they always leave the restaurant feeling really satisfied.
Add Commenthas its ups and downs

have been coming to daddys since it opened had great fun with former owners who had their own band with staff on thur. nites. food and drilnks were great. new owner is a nice fellow and has brought in the bbq which is difficult at times since it dries out fast when precooked. i should know had a rest. for 10 yrs. drinks still great and the mac and cheese were great.hurricanes were always made with powder mix
five stars is a joke

All these reviews with five stars are obviosly written by friends and owners because this place has gone down the hill fast .The food is no longer fabulous and the help doesn't know what hey are doing. They want to be a bbq place(with so-so bbq). The owners are never there and shame on them for buying a successful cajun restaurant and changing everything to make it bbq. I miss the Big Daddys I knew. I find it hard to believe that many people actually think they have the best bbq and everyone else thinks its terrible.
GREAT place to eat!!

Born and raised in Louisiana I know good Cajun cooking and Big Daddy's is MY absolute FAVORITE!! I would HIGHLY recommend Big Daddy's
Laissez Le Bon Temps RoulérMy Absolutely Fabulous Favorite Place To Eat and Drink
Born and raised in Alabama, I also know how to recognize fine Southern and Cajun food at its best. I am fortunate to live now in Massapequa, the same town that my beloved Big Daddy's resides in! This is a fun, magical place to enjoy an evening night out. Everything is always perfect! From the scrumptious, VERY large portions of Cajun and BBQ delights to the daily Mardi Gras atmosphere to the wonderful Hurricanes, Margaritas, Mint Juleps and fine Southern beers (try the Blackened Voodoo or Purple Haze!), this is an amazing place! The service is exceptional, always ready to greet guests with a warm smile and good "Southern" hospitality. To all of y'all with something negative to say, I have a strong suspicion that you are the same person using different screen names who must carry some grudge against my cherished Big Daddy's. To this person, you also probably think a chain like The Olive Garden is "authentic" Italian food, lol. Enjoy and Cheers, y'all!
Too stuffed to leave!
I've been going to Big Daddy's for several years, and as great as the food always is, I can never ********* all. That could be 'cause I order everything on the menu. I've NEVER had a dish there I wouldn't recommend. The hardest thing about going there is leaving, I can barely push myself away from the table. But there's always room for one more hurricane. The service is top notch and the management is better.

Excellent Dining!

I've been eating at Big Daddy's for several years and I've never had a bad experience. The food is delicious and the portions are gigantic! The owners are just as terrific as the previous, if not better! (Definitely more fun!)
Stop in.. you will not be disappointed!Off the charts
I have been going to Big Daddy's for years with both ownerships involved. The food and service has always been tops but now the menu is expanded with the addition of BBQ as an added appeal. The menu changes daily and each time i go there it's great to be surprised by what's on the menu that night. Portions are huge, drinks are awesome and having the choice between Cajun and BBQ just adds to the great night we always have at Big Daddy's. Plus live music and the chance to also catch a big game on the flat screen only adds to the atmosphere. And the ribs and pulled pork are even better then Virgil's in the city. Hope the staff and owners continue to do what they have been doing for years and i'll continue to go there for the best New Orleans and BBQ food on Long Island.
