Some would argue that there is an upper limit beyond which the steak won't tate any better. At Teller's we have consistently enjoyed the food with never a complaint. The quality service, atmosphere and variety easily justify the price of a meal.

overrated,rushed ,expensive

We live near by and every time we pass this place and see the
waiting line's on a Saturday night , we laugh our head off.
WHY?
They rush you, everything is EXTRA, they make you feel like
you in there way. their Motto! Let's get them out , FAST !!!
Their steaks and other food's are nothing special.
WE stopped going and switched to the Outback. OK, grant you,
it's not the same look in there. But who needs it when the food
is so overrated and the price tag is exhuberant.
It used to be a bank, years ago and that's what they are doing at Tellers. THEY LAUGH ALL THE WAY TO THE bank.

Its ok but not great.

I've been to Tellers a few times and the steak has very little flavor to it. The service is good but the food is just ok in my book. Prefer Peter Lugers or Pace Steak house if i'm on the Island.

Lack of Consistency

I have gone to this place at least 5 times. When it first opened it was extremely good and the steak for two was every bit as good as Luger's. However as the years have gone on the quality of the food has been inconsistent. On some days you can have a great meal and than on other days it is terrible. For example I have gone there and ordered a side of creamed spinach and it tasted as if the chef put 30 pounds of salt in it. When told this to wait staff they took it back and told me the kitchen agrees. When asked for more creamed spinach the waiter informed us that do to the mistake by the kitchen there will be no spinach this evening. If you are paying these prices the mark of quality is consistency. There have also been times when the meat is not cooked to order. Even at the bar when ordering a hamburger from bar menu the meat has been very salty and on 2 occasions I have had to make them redo it. Good bar but for these prices need to change chef and staff in order for this place to reach the higher levels of excellence.

Nothing less than perfect

I have eaten in all the resaurants mentioned and though they are all very good, Tellers stands alone. Great service, great atmosphere and even better food.

I have been to every local steak house on L.I. including Blackstone's , this is the Best! try the rib eye steak, there is no better!

Horrible

The food was good but the service was horrible. We were there for 1 1/2 hours and they were doing everything in their power to get us to leave because they need the table. They gave us the bill without offering us coffee. We ordered the coffee and they took the cups off the table when we were done so that we couldn't have another cup. The bill for the six of us was almost $500. If you want excellent service and food, go to Ruth's Chris or Blackstone.

forget price it's the best rib

I think the bill sets people off, but when looking for the best service, with the best rib-eye you'll find, this is the place hands down.

I agree with most of the other reviewers -- Tellers is "just ok". Nothing fantastic, but nothing really bad either.
