i have been going to piccolo's for many years. the food and the service is the best. the veal chop valdastano is excellant.

Saturday evening- The atmosphere was perfect. The tables situated well, not too close to another. The service- absolutely the best- 1 main waiter, 2 assistants but not overbearing. Food- A plus plus. We shared the mussels- good size- melt in your mouth,not chewy. The veal scallopine with mash potatoes was perfection. A special that night was Tillapia with little necks which the wife said was fabulous. Dessert- Gelato w/ apple crumb was awesome. Will be a customer again very soon. As good as if not better than Sempre Vivolo.

I had a great meal here and will definately be back! The waiter was so attentive and knew what I wanted even before I did! Finally some good, authentic Italian food. Great date place- romantic!

This was ALWAYS the most overrated restaurant on L.I. It boils down to this--if they know you and you are "in the club" they love you. If you are not--you could drop dead in the aisle and the wait staff and management (right up to the owner) would just step over you. Save your money.

Avoid at all costs

This restaurant was raved about buy a woman I knew. She just HAD take me there. Or, should I say, get "taken" there. I found absolutely nothing special about this place. It was so dark, I couldn't read the menu. So I was shocked when I finally received the check after having to chase after the waitor. It was a Thurs night and the bill set me back $120 for 2 incomplete dinners. Definitely a rip-off. And defintely our last date.

Terrible service both times I went there, and the food was "just okay". If you want really good Italian food head to Viva Loco in Bellmore.

Visited Piccolo on my B'day Sept 14th. Waiter after opening bottle of wine tipped it over.It spilled over table and had to be covered with napkins. This was the last bottle of the particular wine. You would think that after dinner something would have been deducted from bill or dessert offered or after dinner drink. NOTHING!!! We did not have time to discuss the matter as we had an engagement to attend. A couple of months later I dropped a line to management.
