This popular Babylon Village bistro is more of an upscale pub than a cafe, with a bar crowd that lingers long after the kitchen closes. While turn-of-the-century American antiques dangle above the dark wood booths and long polished bar, diners sink cold pints and pick on fried calamari or Thai shrimp spring rolls with a mandarin orange dipping sauce. While you won't find anything too exotic on the menu, a plate of blackened mahi mahi topped with pineapple salsa and plantain chips is a unique alternative to the burgers, wraps and sandwiches which dominate at this boaters' hangout. And while the crowd is fairly casual, anyone dressed up won't stand out -- though on a Saturday night, you may have to stand at the bar, if you don't arrive early enough. While parking can be tricky, the restaurant is right on Main St., so just look for the giant wooden doors and gold Post Office emblems.

Too Crowded

Nice place, perfectly acceptable but the drinking area is too narrow, having a wall that separates it from the eating area. Extremely agitating shoulder to shoulder. Simple fix is to move the wall over a few feet. The dining area looks under used and can afford the loss of a few tables.

GZach107W's Review

I have eaten here sevarl times and the food has always been excelent, The marinated steak was especially good. I don't drink so the bar portion holds no interest for me but everytime I have been in there it looked like the crowd was well behaved and having fun.
God Of Blunder's Review

Had heard lots of good things about it, but it was pretty uneventful when I went there on a Friday night. There should not be a cover charge at a place like this - it's a bar and grill. Anyway, crowd ranged from mid-20s to 40s. The trash came out at night - cows lifting up their shirts for other cows. Very pleasant.
