The debate over which city has the superior pizza, New York or Chicago, may never be settled, but many of those who endorse the Gotham faction consider Verrazano Pizza a home away from home. Wide slices of flat, cheesy pizza with a golden brown crust, just like they make them at Ray's Original, are hand-tossed, baked in a brick oven and served with all the traditional toppings. The critical cheese-to-tomato-sauce ratio, which separates quality pizza from the stuff in your grocer's freezer, is either meticulously measured here, or they've been doing it so long that the perfect mix comes naturally. Pastas, subs and calzones are also available. Verrazano is mostly a carry-out place, though they have a few seats for those who can't wait to dig in. -- David Hofstede

    I am from Long Island, New York. I have searched Vegas for the Best Pizza for 2 years now. I came across Verrazano Pizza one day when I needed Something at Smith's. I stopped in and had a slice and fell in love. I immediately bought another slice. The taste was just like the NY Pizza I remember. A Million thumbs up to Verrazano and please don't change.

    My first "date" with my husband of 35 years was riding on the handle bars of his bike to the pizza joint on the corner. That was in Freehold, New Jersey. We moved our little family to Las Vegas in 1978 and it took a few years but when Verrazano's opened on the corner of Rainbow and Flamingo it has been our family's replacement nostalia spot ever since. Good and cheesy with the perfect crispy crust. Now we take our 11 year old grandson there after his baseball games.

    Fantastic Pizza! Must try Pepperoni and jalepenos! If only it were wood fired ovens, but it is as close to exstacey as you can get this side of the law!

    I eat there everyday. They are very very clean, they get your food out fast and it has just been made. The food tastes amazing. Best Pizza in Las Vegas by Far.

    The pizza is the best in town, as is their chicken fingers, wings, and sandwiches. The people who work there are very friendly, and helpful. Worth the trip!
