  • Come here to get beat up

    Review rating : 1out of 5   luckeyu21 - 05/06/2007

This club is horriable. Management and security don't know how to treat their customers. 4 guys were jumped by 9 and when security finally got there they blamed the 4 guys. This started supposedly by the 9 guys couple of **** girls dancing with the 4 guys. Those guys had no idea the girls had boyfriends. While one of the 4 walked to the bathroom, the group of 9 pulled him into their booth and started beating him up. Security took one of the 4 guys, that was an eye witness, and locked him in a backroom till the copes left. They insisted they didn't have the guy. Once the cops left, 4 security escorted him out. One guy passed out and was throwing up blood but security wouldn't let him in the ambulence till he told them his name. None of security including the head of security would give him there name. They told the 4 guys not to press charges and the 9 also wouldn't. But if they did press charges, they would go to jail. This club is crap! Who knows why they were protecting the 9 guys who started it, maybe they spend a lot of money. Whatever the reason, it's stupid cause they are paid to protect their customers and they obviously don't. I WON'T be coming back here and neither will any of my friends. I'll make sure word gets around about this bad club. I suggest not going here unless you like to get pounded for no reason and then get blamed for it!

  • Pointless Wait for Zero Vibe

    Review rating : 1out of 5   miztinsel - 04/18/2007

Sure there are stars there, but who cares if you can't see them? Also, the line is so long to get in, and once you get in, it's nothing but sheer disappointment. The bartenders are slow, the music is terrible, and while the place is pretty, the layout is awful! You're forced to move in lines like sheep by the herding security staff, and in order to get to the dance floor, you have to trip over a giant ottoman, and people in their tables. Even worse, it's hard to leave the place since the exit funnels you through their downstairs room which is filled with drunk people totally unaware of people trying to get by. They obviously didn't think this one through. There are much better clubs in Vegas.

My brown skin made me invisible in broad daylight!

  • Good Food and atmosphere

    Review rating : 4out of 5   heller946 - 12/19/2006

I am rating this strictly on the dining side. We had sushi and it was good, the squab lettuce wraps were excellent. The dining room is very loud but the atmosphere is definately that of a night club. Overall I would go back for the food.

  • Typical Vegas Hype

    Review rating : 1out of 5   cmrgib - 10/17/2006

I went for the one year anniversary. First it is obvious they pay stars to come and take photos, thus making THE hot spot. Here is the honest situation. You stand in line forever, no matter who you are, drinks are weak and over priced, you can’t sit (which is typical) but it is too crowded to stand (you are forced to “keep moving” by the bouncers), I couldn’t even see the dance floor much less hope to make it on the dance floor, and finally spent 75-80% of my time waiting in the line for one of two toilets. So, if you like spending lots of money to be treated about as well as cattle being let to slaughter (but then again that is the treatment at most clubs in Vegas) you’ll love Tao.

  • BOOOOO!

    Review rating : 1out of 5   ldyjane125 - 10/13/2006

Maybe I went on the wrong night (Friday), but all i can say is BOOOOOOO. The venue is definitely nice, but I go to the club for the music and that was some straight up garbage. Maybe it was because we got there at 2am, but c'mon it was Vegas was it not?! My fiance and I went on a Friday night and I'm not mad bc I was already toasted from drinking at our hotel and I got in free with some pass, but damn after walking through the entire place, I just stayed downstairs to the lounge part to watch the gay guys have fun. I had most of my fun watching them bc the music was booo. Glad to be back home in DC bc our DJs know what their doing. HU Homecoming... let's go!

I laugh when I hear people below say that Tao is a great place? I guess if you like places 1.) where people are crammed together with no room to move, 2.) Extremly overpriced; 3.) Arrogant and assinine security guards; 4.) Marginal music.

I've been Tao 4 x. The first time, a couple years ago, was a fun time. But, it's gotten worse each time. I just went past labor day weekend, and had a horrible experience. When you spend $3K at a club and you roll with a party of 15, you would think at least one of us would like it. We all left to go to Hard Rock. Tao has the worst Hosts and Security at any club I have ever been to. These guys think they are the greatest things because they can make you wait 45 minutes to get to your table. When a customer is going to drop $3K on a table, you might want to make things as pleasant as possible. If you want to wait 3 hours, pay cover, and be in a human mosh pit, by all means go to this place. I'd rather go to Pure, Body English, or even Jet.

  • Great!!!

My girlfriends and I went to Vegas for my bachelorette party and dined at Tao on 7/22/06. As a Vegas rat ( I go about 5-7x's a year) Tao rates very high on my "top places to eat" list. I had the lobster and thought it was worth every penny. The other 6 girls enjoyed their meals as well. Our waitress was sweet, attentive and hot!!! Considering it's Vegas, I think the price was very reasonable. Your not just paying for the food but the environment as well. Check it out!!!
