On a street where bigger means better, and anything built before 1990 is a candidate for implosion, it's amazing to find a quiet, intimate and unpretentious cocktail lounge where nothing has changed since 1974. The Peppermill's centerpiece is a giant circular fireplace with brass accents, set inside a bubbling pool of water that looks like it was part of the set on 'The Dean Martin Show.' The menu hasn't changed much either; most customers opt for classic lounge libations like Mai Tais and Zombies to wash down the salted almonds on every table. The plush booths in dark corners have hidden their share of illicit romances over the years, but don't expect to meet that special someone here; at the Peppermill, cuddling couples vastly outnumber prowling singles.

  • Loved it.

When we got there it was severly crowded, we gave our name to the hostess and went over to wait in the Peppermill Lounge (so cool - so Vegas). We sat by the fire pit and watched TV, enjoying the fun atmosphere. Our table was ready in no time... The service was excellent and the food was even better. The Peppermill is definitely a must for anyone visiting or living in Vegas.

  • It is good

Yea the prices are somewhat on the high side. But wait until the food comes. That's when you know you have a very good value here. Portions range from good to generous to enormously generous. Can't go wrong. My favorite place to eat.

Peppermill is a taste of "classic" Las Vegas, but more than that. The decor may be 1970s, but there's nothing tatty about the banquettes, the counter or the firepit lounge.
Nothing you can't pronounce on the traditional, all-American menu. The Cobb Salad, fried shrimp and any of the traditional breakfast items, all good. The servers are unpretentious but generally gracious.

What I have seen on the Internet If i was to visit Las Vegas I would most definitely go to the peppermill lounge to eat and relax. I like a place that Is beautiful, But not so gordy. Sometime's Place's can overdue the look's of there business. I also like the fact that they have been around alot longer than most of them now.

  • Afternoon Martinis

    Review rating : 5out of 5   will800 - 09/05/2005

I can usually be found here for a late morning breakfast and then I adjourne to the bar for few early afternoon martinis and reminisce by the little fireplace about old time Vegas and how it was portrayed in that Casino movie starring Robert Dinero which was actually filmed in the very same fireplace spot where I am rememiniseing.

Try the omletes and come on inside and dive into an ice cold martini or two. Look for me by the fireplace and let me tell you about them olden days right outside the Peppermill.

My Family ate here for the 1st and 2nd time on our last visit to Vegas in August. We stayed at a nearby casino and the coffe shop there was expensive and not worth the price, so we thought we'd try somewhere else. Not knowing anything about the Peppermill, we were a little surprised at the prices and thought about leaving. We decided to split two breakfasts between the 4 of us. I AM SO GLAD WE STAYED! That was the best breakfast. Perfectly cooked eggs, wonderful french toast and the thickest bacon, more like ham. We were all more than full, even after splitting our meals. It was so good, I had to go back on the morning we flew out to go home. Now, when we go back in December, we'll have to make another trip to the Peppermill.

  • Great First Date

Where to go on that "first date?" Try the lounge. Dark, romantic horseshoe booths conducive to conversation and romance. It works every time!

I live in Vegas and visit the Peppermill as often as I can. No place in town gives you the old time Vegas feel as well as the Peppermill. It has the best lounge in town, with red velvet and a fantastic fire-pit. The booths in the restaurant are perfect as is the neon lighting. Don't miss this great Las Vegas treat.

After reading all of the posts, we went for the first time right before Thanksgiving. All of the posts were right~~great food & huge portions. A little pricey for a coffee shop~~should not be called a coffee shop!
