So so
We dined at the Mix last night. The first turn off was the hostess. I noticed that someone else made a very similar comment. They need to send their hostesses to some kind of customer service training. The hostess had an attitude and was quite curt and unfriendly. We had a reservation and were not seated until 40 minutes after we were supposed to be.
I had a crunchy lobster salad with coconut gazpacho as my appetizer. It was bland, bland, bland. I couldn't taste the coconut and though the salad had crunch, there sure was little taste.
One of our diners had to send their steak back. They had ordered the special of the evening. The highlight was surf and turf, a halibut with foie gras and black truffles. I had range chicken and that was ok, but not at the level of quality I would expect for the hype of the restaurant and the price.
Desserts were definitely good. I had the maple napolean with pistachio ice cream. That was the favorite part of my meal. The chocolate dome received a high review by one of our diners. The rum cake was weak and my husband was quite disappointed. Our service was good, but the meal was so, so with a high price tag. And fire the hostess! We won't go back.Add CommentEXCELLENT ATMOSPHERE

Service was excellent. Timing was wonderful. Never felt rushed. Excellent food. I believe all ten people in the party were pleased. Spectacular view.
Get appetizers at the bar
The major attitude of the hostess was our first turn-off. The view was better from our suite at the Four Seasons, especially at the first table that Miss Attitude seated us. I asked for a better view and she put us at a tiny table fit for one. One look at the menu made us realize that it was another overpriced restaurant with a tasting menu that didn't look very interesting. (Perhaps I should mention that we are from NY) So, we decided to leave and then discovered that the view from the outside bar was the best and they served delicious appetizers there. A much better choice than looking at McCarren Airport and getting a so-so menu.
Not That Special

Room was too bright. Food too average. Should have left after the appetizer, wihich was very good. Service was average. Disappointing.
very pretentious
I have dine to a lot of Alain Ducasse restaurant but I got very disapointed with my entiere experience...
I mention to our waiter and they haven't not sorry about it.Great View, lame people

I was expecting the view to be great here and it was clearly 5 star. Unfortunately, the place was populated with mostly overweigth tourists hoping to see young starlets or at least model types. The talent level was weak. Worth checking out for dinner, avoid the club.
come for the view, stay for dinner!
While few can argue that Vegas is THE PLACE for epicurean epiphany, even less can argue that if you do it in one place it should be at Mix. It is true that the views are what roped us up to the the 60-somethingth floor at THE Hotel at Mandalay Bay. And the interior design really defies words except to say - jaw-dropping. What else would you expect at $20 Million plus in build-out cost - according to one manager. While you might be able to buy me great visuals my palate is very picky at the prices Mix is willing to charge. The Big-Eye tartare for example is flown fresh from hawaii specifically for the kitchen at Mix which worked its magic, and I was charmed! Beef tenderloin Rossini with generous portions of seared foie gras, truffle, and crispy potatoes along with perfectly finished tenderloin was precisely what we were told to expect as a result of the comprensive grasp of the menu, wine list and concept as demonstrated by our waiter Matt- (request him if you go)who performed nothing less than a coreography of execution about our table. -SPECTACULAR
