Better places to go....

We live here in Vegas and have dined at many of the fine dining restaurants around town. With so many to choose from, a major component in our mind that determines whether or not we'll return is the service. We first dined at Delmonico for a business dinner (there were about 15 of us). The food was good, but also the service really impressed us, so much so that my husband and I took my parents and sister there for dinner a few weeks later. Our second experience was completely unacceptable - the food took forever (even by fine dining standards), was not temperature appropriate, and they didn't know who ordered what without us telling them (I felt like I was at an Applebee's or similar). We couldn't get more drinks without flagging someone down, and the presentation was awful (when we were there the first time, they dropped the plates all together, etc.) - half the table had to wait for their food. I feel that a truly great restaurant is consistently excellent - one good experience and one bad at this level for me is unacceptable. After our second experience, I felt that we probably got good service the first time because it was a corporate event and they knew that, and the bill was much bigger so they took extra care of us. In my opinion, some of the restaurants on the Strip forget that locals (read, possible repeat customers) go there and therefore don't care as much about service, since there is always a new convention goer with an expense account rolling in who will never come back regardless of the level of service provided. Fortunately for us, there is also an abundance of places to get an excellent fine dining experience - complete with the service that should accompany it. We went to Alize for our anniversary and it was amazing, and Nine hasn't disappointed me yet. Renoir, Seablue, and the Voodoo Cafe are all very good as well.

Worst meal in Las Vegas

My wife and I staying at the Venitian made reservations for dinner at Delmonicos. Afte a drink in the bar attached to the resturant they called us for our dinner reservation, my wife ordered a filet and I ordered the porkchop. My porkchop was still frozen when it arrived at my table, I asked the waiter to have it defrosted and cooked, he was very good about agreeing to do this; the alacarte potaote dish was also just luke warm. When they finally brought my porkchop back my wife had finished her steak, so I started to eat my chop, this time it was so tough I could not cut thru the chop. Terrible meal, will never go back there again. Ig the resturant had been busy maybe I would have understood the situation, it was 6:30PM and not busy. To be fair we did eat in two other resturants at the hotel during that stay and the meals were great.

We ate at Delmonico's Christmas Eve night 12-24-2006 - what a wonderful present!!! The food, atmosphere, service were all top notch. Yes it was pricey but worth every penny. This was the only thing I asked for from Santa and I got it!!!

SIMPLY THE BEST STEAK!

My wife and I have been dining at Delmonico's since it first opened and have returned and brought our friends with us many times. The food is incredible and the service outstanding! Every other restaurant we visit pales in comparison to both. Michael Olsen, the general manager, goes out of his way to make certain our experience is always top notch and his supporting staff are second to none. I would highly recommend Delmonicos. I have dined at the other top restaurants listed, and although enjoyable, Delmonico's is certainly the best!

Surely not #1

We ate here with a group of 10. No one in our party particularly cared for their meal. Service was slow, even though the restaurant was not crowded. I've been to 20 different steakhouses in Vegas, and this one doesn't make my top 10.
So many better places to go, like the Rosewood Grille.

Food is as probably as good as any other steak house but paying twice the price, just to say you ate there, is stupid.

I've never eaten in a restaurant alone and I did here, I recommend it hands down! My steak was perfect, the mashed potatoes the best I've ever had! If you're in Las Vegas this is a must on your stops for great steakhouses. MMM MMM Good!

Perfect Evening

We went to Delmonico's On 12/13/2006 for a wedding dinneer after my daughter's wedding. We could not have asked for better service. Vincent and the staff were incredible. And the food.....could not have been better. What a great way to end such a special day. Thanks to the staff at Delmonico's!!!

Exceptional Service

We are new to the area and have been trying to find a really good steak.......well, I think we have found it! The food was impressive and the service was even more so! So much so that we already made another reservation to celebrate our anniversary here. If you do go, ask for Mark....he and his wait staff were exceptional with their service. They made us feel like we VIP's.
