With its cascading waterfall, elegantly arranged tropical plants, carved wood interiors, ceiling fans and views of the Mandalay Bay's lush tropical water garden, the Bay Side Buffet is one of the nicest looking serve-yourself eateries on the Strip. If only the breakfast, lunch and dinner menus were as exotic as the South Pacific setting. But then most guests probably opt for buffet dining for the reliable (even predictable) selection of soups, salads, entrees and desserts. Nothing on the food line stands out, but nothing need be avoided, either.

The tables overlooking the garden are the nicest, though it's a long walk from that side of the room to the food.

Food is pretty good if you go in the evening...it's not that crowded either. They have crab legs galore at dinner time, breakfast/lunch is pretty crowded. The staff is pretty nice as well!

We went to this buffet right when we got into town and were very impressed. It was nothing special theme-wise, but the food was excellent. They had every type of food you could imagine for breakfast. Fresh salmon, bagles, fruits, a variety of eggs, mexican breakfast foods, a carving station, etc. The line seemed long but it only took about 15 minutes to get the four of us seated. We went around 10:30 and they changed over to lunch while we were there. That brought out more types of foods such as chinese, salads, beef and chicken selections. This was the best "plain" buffet we went to all trip and we also went to buffets at Caesar's, Paris, Luxor, and Monte Carlo. We came here on our last day as well.

I normally don’t like eating at buffets, but decided to eat the breakfast buffet here (you can’t screw up breakfast too bad). It was decent- the scrambled eggs and pancakes were average. The best part by far was the made-to-order omelet. I would only eat here again if I were up that early and intent on eating breakfast. Ask for a view of the bathing beauties at the Mandalay Pool.

Best Buffet ! Better than MGM Grand and Golden Nugget. Buffet area were not cluttering. Good plans on dessert buffet area -not hundreds of desserts like Golden Nugget. Big dining area, but comfortable.
