This cheerful pizza joint has been feeding and entertaining families for years. The interior is bright and busy with colorful murals, a child-activated electric train set running overhead and the Cartoon Network playing on TV. On Wednesdays, Snooky the clown visits to paint faces and make balloon sculptures. But the main attraction at Bachagaloop's is creating your own pizza. Pizza dough, partially baked, is brought to the table with tomato sauce, shredded cheese, and a variety of toppings. The kids get to work, and their pizzas are finished in the oven. They are then served back to the little chefs along with a "diploma" in pizza-making from Bachagaloop's University. While the kids are busy in their fun, messy and fruitful enterprise, parents and adults can enjoy one of 72 traditional or "outrageous" pies. If the lox with a schmear pizza or the potato pierogi pizza sound like too much to handle, the regular entrees -- lasagna, shrimp scampi, and chicken parmigiana -- here can all put the Italian chain restaurants to shame.

Bachagaloops has been out of busines for months. So it is not a great place to eat if it isn't around anymore.
closed!?!?!?!?
i have been going here since i moved here and all i can say is if it was bad i would have stop after the second time i went there. mr.bachagaloop is one of the nicest people you will ever meet
Thank god for birth control!
After eating here with my fiance, we've decided not to have children. How can anyone enjoy a meal with whiney, misbehaving pissants running from table to table. By the time we were finished, we decided that a vasectomy was our next order of business. As for the food, who can remember when you're too busy trying ward off other people's mistakes.
City's Best?? NOT!
Bachagaloop's is a very familar establishment to many families in North Jersey. Up until our last visit we always enjoyed their willingness to cater to family like ours: four kids, grandmother, and my wife and I.
Last Saturday we decided to visit bachagaloop's. We were a bit surprised to find the restaurant almost empty on a Saturday night and it was FREEZING in the restuarant. We ordered two large specialty pizza: buffolo wing pizza and carmalized onion with proscutto pizza. Both arrived in good time but we had to settle for paper plates due to dishes not being available. No further explainations were offered, just "here are some paper plates and napkins". The buffolo wing pizza was absolutely horrible. All we tasted was extremely hot sauce poured on a dry pieces of chicken. The onion pizza didnt fare better. The dough was so thin it was impossible to eat. We couldnt use the knife to cut the pizza into smaller pieces because we had to use paper plates. The most upsetting thing, however, was when we got the check the waitress totaled the bill with $8 grutuity for having "served" 7 on the table. Some family restaurant! $58 for two pizza pies with paper plates...Not great at all......
I have gone twice and the pizza plus the pasta my husband was having tasted as if it was spoiled, it tasted very rancid, if you like Fear Factor this place is the place to eat, spoiled food.
Lots more than pizza . . .
This is clearly a family restaurant. At nearly any time, you'll find families, sometimes with cranky tots or noisy birthday parties. The food is tasty and portions are good, albeit too generous, but the prices are moderate. Service is at a far higher level than restaurants that tout fine dining. Menu is varied, but does not change seasonally. Over the years, Bachagaloop's has offered new entrees, such as several seafood selections. The decor is designed for children, focusing on caricatures of comedy greats; the television is unnecessary.
Best bets:
Spaghetti with clam sauce ($7.95), or cauliflower sauce ($7.95) is excellent, as is the spaghetti with peas and tomato (6.95). "Pizza Marietta," a cheese-less Sicilian-style pizza built on a crust that's a little too crisp. The Italian sub is $4.75, and the prosciutto and fresh mozzarella sub is $6.25.
Arancini (rice balls) are far too expensive, and garlic knots are not worth the expense.
If you're watching your weight: Ask for a side of pasta. Share an Italian Sub with someone, and order it "dry" (no dressing).
